All I have to say is GO AND SEE THIS CONCERT! I had such a good time, the setlist was the same, minus the order. The set was mesmerizingly awesome. It kinda reminded me of U2, but it was much better and fit the mood of the songs. It was part dance club, jazz club, and visual art. It was worth the wait, and the ticket price. When he comes anywhere near you, just go. Bay Area gave him much love and he gave it back. Gotta add as one of the Top 10 concerts ever. clapping

I loved it! I had to drive 2+ hours both ways to see the show and I don't regret it one bit. I'm so happy that I've finally seen him, I've been waiting since 1987!!

27 days until the Toronto show! I can't wait. I've waited SO LONG to see George in concert.

I'm excited with the setlist. I wonder if he will switch it up from time to time with some additions/subtractions of tracks.

It would be amazing to hear FANTASY live. headbang

George did his second concert in San Jose last night. He added Praying for Time to the set list. I love that song. Can't wait to see him in DC next month.

But has he sold out? He is big in the rest of the world and huge in Europe. They haven't played him in this country in 10 years. He hasn't been big here since the early 90s. The haven't advertised the tour here at all.

From what I read it's not completely sold out, but it's doing fairly well. He has some very dedicated fans who follow him on the Internet. Just because he doesn't have current hits, doesn't mean he can't do well. He is playing mostly his older stuff people know, not a lot of his more recent stuff that flopped in the U.S.. There are many artists who don't get played on the radio that much anymore but are huge touring acts. Also, since he hasn't toured in a long time here, people are interested to see him. If he does another tour like this next year, then I don't think it would do as well.

There were a handful of seats open scattered througout the arena. Overall the place was aout 80% full. The crowd was way into it, they knew most words to every song and they were on thier feet the majority of the time. He rocked the house! My friend in San Diego said that the arena looked sold out down there. I think he's going to do just fine. lol

I peeped him last night. What screwed me up completely is that he actually did "Hard Day"! Was not expecting that because that is one of my favorite songs by him and usually artists of his caliber will play the monster hits as opposed to the die hard fan favorites such as that joint. He did it back to back with "Everything She Wants" (another one of my favorites). It was a smart, clever show seeing that he chose to give people his more quality soulful stuff. He did "Spinning The Wheel" off of "Older" (my favorite album by him - also his most slept on album) which also surprised me. If you are a true fan of this man's music then you will be able to see what he was trying to do. He played pretty played everything I could hope for him to play and it was on point. He skipped on "Wake Me Up" and "I Want Your Sex" which was exactly what I thought he was gonna do. I literally waited 20 years to see this show (seeing that I missed the Faith tour while in high school). Last year was The Police (another one of my all-time favorite artists with whom I thought would never tour again), now this. He did "I'm Your Man" which I damn near forgot about all of these years and it reminded me why I became a fan in the first place. Go check it out while he's around because because I think he's gonna wrap it up after this. Very grateful to have finally seen him live. peace
