Yeah, there are actually about three other characters who spend a lot more time on screen than she does, and they do a lot more too. Madonna's character is kind of a blank canvas who doesn't really go on any dramatic journey. It's really Rosanna Arquette's movie, but you can understand why they sold it as a Madonna flick. She was new and hot. It was inevitable, but it was also misleading. yeah, plus the fact that Rosanna Arquette is about as fun to watch as paint dry, so they had to sell it somehow. There's no need to be such a defensive fanbot. Rosanna Arquette's character carries the narrative. She goes through a journey and a transformation. Madonna's doesn't. She also spends nearly twice as much time on screen as Madge. Those are facts. As for Arquette not being "fun to watch", I'd take that comment seriously if I thought it was an unbiased one, but I don't think it is. Like I said, Madonna's character really doesn't have to do much at all. She's just a blank canvas really. She has to be cool, aloof and a bit flirty. Hardly a stretch for the Madonna of 1984. It's another good example of how lucky she has been in her career. The character is so close to herself that it's remarkable. You couldn't plan that. It just happened that this film was being made at the perfect time for Madge. Evita was another example of that. Both career defining moments that seemed almost sent from heaven for her. Anyway, love the film. I give props to the writers, director, cast and everyone involved. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

I don't think anyone in this film is out of their element. I think the casting is perfect. Arquette is generally a poor actress, but that role required a certain goofy charm and she had that. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

You must see it! It's hilarious.I think it's Madonna's best movie. It's a fun, very eighties comedy. Even more goofy than "Desperately Seeking Susan". I think it was classifed as a screwball comedy (which was a genre popular in...what, the 1940's?). Very absurd storyline but Madonna has a lot of fun in it. It's a renter for sure. Probably not easy to find the DVD in stores as it only a came out maybe last year or so and most places don't ordered back titles that often. If you know stores that still rent videos, they might carry it. Better yet, check to see if there are video stores that are dumbing their VHS stock. There might still be some. I recently found a Hollywood Video in Ann Arbor with one of the largest selection in the city (and maybe one of the largest country for a brick and mortar....they really carry some rarer titles on DVD including TV DVDs) and they have a ton of videos they are getting rid of (sadly, I think a lot of good stuff is gone). I recently broke down and bought a copy of "The Virgin Tour" (haven't watched it yet, though).

She also looks like she had alot of fun filming this. The movie (and the soundtrack) also contains four Madonna songs, the best ones being "Causing A Commotion" and the haunting ballad "The Look Of Love".

DSS is the only truly good Madonna movie.
For shits and giggles, try "Body of Evidence" or "Swept Away." The others are straight up unwatchable. Although her acting in that piece of shit "Dangerous Game" is the best she's ever done... I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

My God, I saw about four minutes (maybe three minutes) of "Swept Away". I couldn't make it any further. It was SOOOOO bad. It made "Graffiti Bridge" look like "Citizen Kane". If you'd given the cameras to a bunch of random amateurs on the street you would've gotten something better than that. Shocking, even by Madge standards. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

I think it's a bad movie, but it's watchable. Madonna's acting isn't horrid all the way through; the scenery is beautiful; i like the music; the supporting cast is efficient, and there are a couple funny / touching moments. For a Madonna movie, can't ask for much more... I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

I recently saw "Dangerous Game" for a dollar at Hollywood...I should have probably bought it. People forget the great enesmble movie "A League Of Our Own". She is easily the fourth lead (the only reason she appears on the cover and not Lori Perry is because of her name, though).

You really think her acting in "Dangerous Game" is the best she's ever done? I bought the DVD several years ago because many fans said it was an underrated film. They said she was really good in it.That movie put me to sleep! It looks cheap and low-budget too.I'd rather watch 'Body Of Evidence'.At least the sex scenes are fun, lol. The best Madonna movies are 'Who's That Girl' and 'Evita'.She's also good in the films that she doesn't star in (such as 'Dick Tracy' and 'A League Of Their Own').

At this point in pop music, quite a few people were picking up on Madonna's dance pop sound and for her to put out something like this....it's just blah. Speaking of amateurishness, has anyone seen this "film" she directed herself recently? “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

That's pretty much how I feel. In spite of everything, '80s Madonna had it going on. If she'd retired in 1991, I'd probably have warmer feelings toward her, but she's turned into a real embarrassment, not just to herself but to us as a culture that we are still celebrating someone so ridiculous. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

The Best Madonna movie is a League of Their Own. I beileve Madonna only works in supporting roles in an ensamble cast. You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna
