It seems to be her favorite song, favorite video, favorite album...

"well I had just won a Golden globe for Evita, just finished this GREAT record, and just given birth to my daughter, and I just still wasn't fulfilled..." lol

I loved the song ROL in it's day but now it seems like one of her most dated singles. Music, Frozen, and Beautiful Stranger have all held up much better IMVHO. Why will she never consider Beautiful Stranger again for a tour???

If she performs anything from ROL,I would want her to do "Frozen" and one of the non-singles from this album,"To Have And Not To Hold" (acoustic style). If she blended it into a medley with "Miles Away",that would be one of the highlights for me.

From Ray Of Light, I only want "Swim". It's such a fantastic track, I always wished she performed it on the RIT as originally planned, but she went with "Frozen" in the end because Jamie King convinced her to do that. sad

Guess we'll agree to disagree then. wink I still say it wasn't an inspired performance, especially after the massive "Music Inferno". Now THAT was amazing! biggrin

LATEST RUMORS---the PerezHilton setlist is "100% authentic"

To those of you who visit the Madonna forums,I'm sure you have already seen this post,by some fan known as "Madgelover24.

My source confirms Perez Setlist is 100% authentic

Sources tell me that this was the working setlist as of late last week, and that anything can change.I will make notes on what I have heard...

Heartbeat---it is an extended version to build up Madonna's entrance
Candy Shop/I Want Candy---I Want Candy will be a brief performance and dance number, nothing is set in stone with this
Open Your Heart---will be very similar in sound to the original version with minor changes
Borderline---Apparently Jamie convinced her to do this and they will be using one of those electronic voice enhance things when she sings this song, like in "Nobody Knows Me" and "Die Another Day",and again, she might still change her mind.
Express Yourself---this will be performed with great choreography and is a definite go (Borderline and Express Yourself may switch places in lineup, but it is confirmed that Heartbeat will be the opening number)

Voices (video interlude)
Nothing Really Matters---this is 50/50,either she will or won't perform this.Vocal arrangements have been made, but this is the third time she considered (and then cancelled) this song for a tour.
Miles Away---will be identical to the promo tour version
Dance 2Night---there is a good chance that this will not make the final setlist
Everybody---will feature a sample
Vogue---great new choreography for this
Beat Goes On---performed with videos of Pharrell and Kanye West. She will do a dance number with her dancers during the Kanye rap

La Isla Bonita (video interlude
Spanish Lesson---this will be the Impressive Instant and Nobody Knows of this tour, they have something great planned for this
You'll See---will be a very theatrical and dramatic performance
Girl From Ipanema---short performance
Who's That Girl---tweaked version of the original
Dress You Up---fun version with a latrin twist to it

Rescue Me (video interlude with the thunderstorm heavily featured in background which will segue greatly into Rain)
Rain---a very simple yet beautiful version
Devil Wouldn't Recognize You---will be amazing live with brilliant dance routine
She's Not Me---some funky dance moves planned

Hung Up---will NOT be the rock version and it won't be the Confessions version either.Slightly different with some new and old dance routines thrown in
Music---heavy choreography, similiar version to the promo tour
4 Minutes---similiar to promo tour version with some minor changes
Holiday---much different than before
Give It To Me---super heavy dance routines with amazing finish

hmmm hmmm hmmm If this news is real,I'm not sure what to think.Although it contains alot of songs I want to hear,I'm not entirely in love with this setlist.

No way! Crazy talk! That was the sexiest that (or any song from that era) has EVER been. I loved the Fosse style dancing and the Jane Fonda Leotard workout vibe...it was so beyond dope.

highlight of the show without question. i actually thought the choreography was fantastic - thats what instantly drew me to the performance. That reworking by Stuart was definitely one of the best things he did for her. Lately ive been thinking that M should definitely have worked with Stuart & Mirwais on at least a couple of tracks for Hard Candy. They could defintely have adapted their sound slightly. I love the way stuart constructs his stuff - he really creates a good build to his tracks.

"Miles Away" sounds like a Mirwais production and Pharrell borrows a few ideas from Stuart. At an early stage,Stuart was actually involved with the album but I guess Madonna decided to make a complete change, keeping only Pharrell and Timbaland on board.

Yes, but that build is used in almost all of his remixes and songs so that gets boring. It's his only "signature sound" and I think he lifted it from some 80s music (Abba's song "The Visitors" have it for example).

Stuart and Mirwais definitely had to go, Mirwais was on 3 records already and Stuart was surely exhausted by Madonna, considering he reused ideas for the Seal record, so it's good he left, otherwise HC would have had some COADF recycles (just like Music had those bland Orbit tracks).

As for Stuart's tour work, he definitely had some amazing stuff there, like the mentioned "Erotica" rework or the mix between "Lucky Star" & "Hung Up", but I think he had to go from there as well. Some of his so called reinventions were not reinventions at all (basically the RIT "Vogue" is the same as BAT, "Like A Virgin" CT is the more or less the album version) and some of his renditions were just weak ("Die Another Day" RIT sounds so bad compared to the album version, or the "Material Girl" misstep).

That said, Kevin Antunes has a lot to live up for, and he has to make up for the latest versions of "Music" & "Hung Up". Though I can easily imagine Madonna herself forcing to do that rock version...

The reason Im less inclined to believe this setlist is for the Rescue Me > Rain part. I think the link between these songs (ie the sound of thunder and rain at the end of rescue me) is a little tenuous - too obvious for madonna. It just seems a little too much like a fan dreaming up possible links into the next song - but madonna wouldnt like to be that obvious.

That said i like the set list - id be very happy with that.

That setlist has some great songs, but it feels a little dis-jointed.And where is "Like A Prayer","Angel" and "Into The Groove"?? I'd rather hear those songs instead of stuff like "You'll See" and "Nothing Really Matters".

I love love love the music mash up - i think its possibly the best version shes done of that. Hung up rock version is hideous - however id imagine that was madonnas idea (monty probably did it as a joke in guitar parctice and she took it seriously).

Im hoping Kevin Antunes brings out a little more funk and looseness to the arrangements of her stuff. Ill be very disappointed if we dont get a bass player or percussionist.

Like a prayer and INto the groove should be staple songs in all her setlists. thats exactly the reason they're not - she's playing with us. Youll see would be very welcome in my opinion. I think its a beautiful song - and i hate to see her ignore her old ballads. Also its one she can sing well in concert and give a decent vocal performance for. Will kind of fit the Drowned World / Paradise slot for this tour.

Oh my, I think that's the first time I read somebody talking about the new version of "Music" that highly. razz I admit it's a "grower", but I can't help to feel a bit disappointed that it's yet *another* mashup, after we got such an amazing mashup with "Disco Inferno"...

The setlist you guys are discussing is believed to be fake. Fansite Madonna Tribe claims the guy who made it "has no clue" apart from some HC tracks. I think the webmaster explicitly denied "Dress You Up", "Open Your Heart", "Rescue Me" and "You'll See". I believe him, Madonna Tribe was accurate with CT spoilers, they were the first to report songs like "Lucky Star" or "Paradise". I believe they will give us the news in a week or two!

speaking of Madonna ballads...I'm gonna pull out the 'Something To Remember' CD and give it a listen. It's a CD that I don't play very often but when I do,I'm always amazed at how underrated her ballads really are. That CD is like a warm, soft blanket music

Its worth the cover price for "I Want You" alone. I remember how hyped i was when i heard she was collaborating with Massive Attack. She put a lot into that compilation. Compare that to the utter shite-fest that is GHV2 and it gives you a stark contrast as to how differently she approaches her work pre and post having kids. She put her all into everything before - now she does the acceptable amount to the limits of professionalism.

Latest news from Drownedmadonna:

DrownedMadonna.com wants to share with Madonna's fans some tidbits from the first steps of the rehearsals of the Sticky & Sweet Tour. Many things and songs keep on changing... so stay tuned!

One of the sections begins with a musical intro from the "Topkapi" movie which lands to "Buenos Aires" from the "Evita" soundtrack. A suitcase choreography ending with ensable cast is being considered. "Buenos Aires" is currently followed by "Spanish Lesson".

Surprisingly "She Is Not Me" is being rehearsed linked with "My Name Is Not Susan".

The 2008 version of "Everybody" features a heavy SKD sample.

A beautiful Sytar and voice version of "Secret" is being considered.

"La Isla Bonita" is closing a section which is currently dedicated to India, with Bollywood style music and choreography.

An "Holiday" intro is being considered for "4 Minutes".

A lot of oldies are being rehearsed, many of them totally reworked.

A controversial screen video by Steven Klein ends one of the sections.

So far 4 video screens are being considered, one of them is the opening of the show

OK - Buenos Aires Im loving - as am the My Name Is Not Susan bit (how fucking random is that - wonder what Whitney will make of it).

Bollywood anyone?????

Love love loving the inclusion of Secret. Cant believe La Isla Bonita is back AGAIN! Liking the sound of LOTS of oldies being rehearsed. exciting times for M fans.

Well im only trusting what i read on Tribe and Drowned madonna at the moment - an i dont think they've ruled those tracks out - just mentioned she wasnt keen on Borderline sad but i can imagine her destroying that with her vocals (in a bad way). Its just good to hear they're keeping their options open when it comes to old tracks.

Will more shows be added?

According to a site called Event Ticket Report,Madonna has a total of 55 concerts scheduled for her tour. However, eight concerts in South America, four concerts in Europe and two concerts in North America still haven't been announced.

Madonna's Sticky and Sweet Tour has already surpassed the 1-million ticket mark and 14 concerts have yet to go on sale

90 percent of Sticky and Sweet tour tickets are already sold out.Live Nation's chairman of Global Music and CEO of Global Touring,Arthur Fogel, said "With Sticky and Sweet,Madonna is on track to break her own record as the top grossing female artist of all time".

hmmm Any guesses on what shows/cities will be added? She would be crazy not to schedule a Detroit show.

I usually really like the rock versions Madonna does of her older songs. But Hung Up was totally the wrong song to turn rock. It is such a disco song and is a relatively recent song. I would love her to do one rock song, but choose a song that is more guitar based and older, which people are ready to hear differently.
I also hope that Kevin is able to introduce some real live playing of bass and drums into her shows. I want to hear a real band, not so much pre-progammed stuff.

Some old songs that she could play in a new rock style arrangement:

"Angel"
"Dress You Up"
"Beautiful Stranger"
"Bedtime Story"
"Sorry"
"Human Nature"

I can easily imagine these songs with loud guitars and a punk-styled arrangements.

If "Dress You Up" is in, then it's going to be that one. She rehearsed a rock version of it for the RIT (which was dropped for "Material Girl" as we all know).

But "Human Nature" I can't imagine that song without the fantastic hip hop sample and beat! confused

why all the love for "Frozen" live? it's great on wax but onstage it's an utter bore. it totally killed the momentum of DWT.

I fell in love with the song back in '87 when I first heard it as a single... I wasn't a MJ fan back then! And that it supposedly was written for Michael I only read a while ago and still think it's a rumour... that song doesn't fit to Michael at all!
