"You'll See" is actually not in the setlist, but there is a sort of Spanish segment on tour, so I'm assuming "Spanish Lesson" and "La Isla Bonita" are in (info yet again from Madonna Tribe).

Then you should have at least rearranged it a bit, to make the re-invention believable. razz

the latest "insider" setlist that's floating around lol This one actually isn't half bad...

Candy Shop
Beat Goes On
Everybody
Deeper And Deeper *
Causing A Commotion
Take A Bow
Rain (interlude)
Devil Wouldn't Recognize You
Justify My Love *
Heartbeat
Now I'm Following You
Hollywood
She's Not Me
Express Yourself
Human Nature
Miles Away/Love Profusion
Dress You Up/Physical Attraction
Get Together
Dance 2Night
Impressive Instant *
Vogue
Give It To Me
Music
Hung Up
4 Minutes

* means that the song is only being "considered" at this point and is not a definite choice.

I like "Now I'm Following You" but I don't see the point in dragging it out for this tour, unless she's gonna do something really crazy and campy with it.

I could do without "Hollywood".

A medley of "Dress You Up" and "Physical Attraction"? love Great idea!

That looks pretty good! I would love to hear Deeper and Deeper and Impressive Instant.

I've been trying to think of a dream setlist.

Like a Prayer
Gone
a couple things from Ray of Light (Swim/Skin/Nothing Really Matters/Power of Goodbye)
Human Nature
Keep It Together
Into The Groove

Though I'm not a huge fan of Madonna's early work, I thought her performances of Like a Virgin and Lucky Star on the last tour were definite highlights. I loved how she re-contextualized them. The Like A Virgin performance brought an entirely new meaning to the song. So I would like to see several vintage Madonna songs - recontextualized, updated, cross-referenced while at the same time, encapsulating the nostalgia in a sort of past-life regression-type experience. biggrin

I agree, the early 80s stuff would mix very well with the new Hard Candy songs.Hard Candy is basically a "modernized" version of her first album.Timbaland and Justin have said that they used the first album as inspiration when they produced the new album. The Pharrell tracks have an early 80s vibe as well.I think she should bring out "Borderline" and "Physical Attraction" from the first album and "Dress You Up" and "Angel" from the second album.

^Yes, same with "Dress You Up".

The webmaster of MadonnaTribe still claims that the setlist is completely fake "except some Hard Candy songs". They were totally reliable before the Confessions Tour and before Hard Candy as well, so they surely know what they are talking about.

Moreover, Madonna said she wouldn't be performing "Holiday" just 2 months ago.

Yeah I know. Wonder why the fan who created this setlist didn't at least put "Into The Groove" or "Ray Of Light" instead of "Holiday" to make it more believable. razz

This Used To Be My Playground
Where's The Party?
Gambler
Love Don't Live Here Anymore

Much as i like it, that set list is no more real than the ones i make up in my head. Perez Hilton is not reliable - and neither are his sources.

I quite like some of the set list (it would be amazing to hear Borderline, Open Your Heart, Vogue, Rain, Youll See, Whos That girl - and id probably put them on my dream setlist) - but i cant see it happening.

She has to perform a fair amount of old tracks as shes only gonna perform 9-10 off the enw album, that leaves around another 10 tracks. 2 of which will certainly be Hung Up & Music. We know she loves doing ray of light, so maybe shell try that one again. So thats 7 left to pick, probably 1 from different studio albums. By process of elimination Id say Open Your Heart, Dress U Up & Borderline have a good chance of being in there, as does Whos That Girl. I just hope she sees sense and performs Take A Bow also - sorely missed from her live repetoire.

I'd love to hear "Bad Girl", "Cherish", "Sooner Or Later" & "Human Nature". A reinvented version of "WIFLFAG" would be nice as well, because the original version is dull, but rather this one than the uninspired new version of "Music" yet again.

The rest is a no to me, especially stuff like "Spotlight", "Fever" or "LDLHA"... neutral

Do you remember a few years back when Drownedmadonna and Madonnatribe were battling each other? lol It was hilarious.I don't know how it started, but they got into this big heated war on one of the Madonna forums (I think it was the old Madonnamad forum? I hope she keeps her word.I'm tired of that song.In recent years, she has recorded great new songs that could easily take the place of 'Holiday' in her tours ("Get Together" and "Beat Goes On" for example).

"Borderline", "Dress You Up", "True Blue", "Open Your Heart", "Who's That Girl" and "Cherish" are always mentioned when somebody creates a wishlist, because those are Madonna's biggest hits from the 80s that haven't been performed since at least the Blond Ambition Tour, and 3 of them are even on The Immaculate Collection. So yes, if we'd go by the setlists of her last 2 tours, she should be performing those (from GHV2: "Take A Bow" & "The Power Of Good-Bye", because apart from these 2 she sang all the tracks on her last 3 tours).

But it's not guaranteed that Madonna is going to include any of those. Most of them haven't been performed since the Who's That Girl Tour, and recently only "Lucky Star" was resurrected from that long ago. "Borderline" has not been performed for 23 years, I believe it's been rumoured by fans for every tour since then! biggrin

Apart from "Music", "Hung Up" and "Ray Of Light", it's likely that "Like A Prayer" & "La Isla Bonita" are going to be performed again instead of those rarely performed songs, simply because Madonna prefers them, and she still reserves the right to choose the songs, as long as she still can have the biggest solo female tour...

The tension between the 2 sites still exists. Both of them had their share of right and wrong exclusives though. Personally I think the whole thing is childish, but oh well, at least we get some good out of it. razz

I agree about "Holiday", she has way too many songs that are more worthy for performing. Though I believe she now considers "Music" as the "new Holiday" now...

On another forum,a fan pointed something out that I think is important. On this tour, she is playing several stadiums. In an arena, she could get away with singing a few rare, lesser hits (like "Bad Girl" or "Human Nature").But in massive stadiums, she's gotta do the HITS....the well-known stuff that everybody knows. So I bet she's gonna be playing alot of her biggest hits on this tour.I predict she'll bring out "Like A Prayer","Into The Groove","Ray Of Light","Music","Vogue",etc.....the MAJOR hits.

If she wheels out "Who's that Girl", I'll throw down $400 to see her do it. No questions asked. With that being said, I really think it's a long shot. She hasn't even really acknowledged that the song exists since it's exclusion from The Immaculate Collection (although it did end up on the Holiday EP released at the same time).

Even if she doesn't include it on the setlist, it needs to be on the tracklisting for her next greatest hits set. It's one of her few trans-Atlantic chart toppers, and, to my experience a huge fan favorite.

Plus, it's got one of the best bridges (if not the best bridge) in a Madge song ever: "Light up my life..."

I remember hearing that during the making of that album and they really did recapture the sounds of the first album, especially with songs like the beat goes on, give it to me, incredible etc.

That's why I have some reservations about her doing stadiums. One thing I like about Madonna's concerts is you never know what you're going to hear. I like that she takes risks and doesn't play the obvious hits. I would hate for her to become like every other aritst who just churns out the predicatable big hits that everyone expects. Some of my favorite songs by her are the rare lesser hits.

My theory on that is that she would never have wanted 2 spanish influenced songs in a row - TIC was an outstanding collection of pop music spanning a decade - and part of its appeal was its absolute variety. Something most other greatest hits collections dont manage. I think its about time she rejuvintated that one.

I think that being in stadiums might alter her choice of set list - but shes so darn stubborn she does wat she wants. The girlie show was all stadiums - yet the setlist for that wasnt overly commercial. As i said i think we'll always get 5 or 6 classics - but there's a difference from that and a greatest hits tour. she just has the luxury of having that many hits she can pick and choose the hit material to her whim. As or what she will and wont perform - she said shed never ever perform Like a virgin, material girl & into the groove again - but has since - -dont believe it until the final setlist.

BTW - the setlist has been printed in the tour book for the last few tours - so it will certainly be finalised in the next month or so.
