The pop diva told a Traverse City audience Saturday after the screening of her documentary about orphans in Malawi that her next world tour would include Detroit as a stop.

She last played Detroit in 2001.

The Michigan native’s announcement was made during a question and answer period that was closed to the press.

The screening of “I Am Because We Are” was a major attraction at the Michael Moore-founded Traverse City Film Festival.

Michigan-native Moore confirmed that Madonna announced the Detroit stop. But details of the tour stop were not released.

Moore described how Madonna and her manager talked in the Green Room of the theater and a few minutes later said “we’re going to play Detroit.’’

“She had an incredible night here’’ said Moore, talking about how moved Madonna was by the warm reception she received from her fellow Michiganders.

She decided to make the Detroit stop in Traverse City, said Moore.

That's great news for Applekisses I think she's the one who had been complaining about Madonna skipping her hometown.

***The show features four main sections.The show opener "Candy Shop" now has a longer intro compared to the promo tour version.A musical intro ala Drowned World Tour,with bits and pieces from Hard Candy that we will be hearing later in the show fades into the "C-A-N-D-Y" intro from the promo tour.

***The clock ticking theme from "4 Minutes" can be heard several times during the show...in the show intro,during "Vogue" and in the "Get Stupid" interlude,which is reminiscent of the Confessions Tour's "Sorry" video interlude.In "Get Stupid",there are samples of "Give It To Me","4 Minutes" and "Beat Goes On" and it's about our chance to save the planet from the various damages that we have created.

***The use of music samples is very big on this tour.Many of the classic hits are musically re-arranged as mash-ups and the songs are sung on musical tracks heavily sampling other dance songs."Like A Prayer",for example,uses musical parts from the 1992 dance hit "Don't You Want Me" by Felix.

***"Into The Groove" contains a small sample of Madonna's "Jump" as well as a sample of "Toop Toop" by Cassius,while "Borderline" is a great rock/ska re-invention of the classic 1983 song.

***The first video interlude,a fast and speeded up version of the James Bond theme "Die Another Day",features exclusive new footage of Madonna as a boxer,from the brand new photoshoot by Tom Munro for the tourbook.

"Into The Groove" counts as a song from Like A Virgin. It's on the European edition and it's from the same era.

The video interludes count, at least it's not 2 more HC tracks done like that, right?

SoulAlive you mixed it up a little bit. The first picture you posted is the gypsy section, on the site it's even called like that. The 3rd picture (with the robe) has no title, but I think it might be for the last section, maybe "Like A Prayer"?

And will gangsta pimp be like "Candy Shop" on the promo tour?

the finalized setlist is very, very...decent and mediocre. again, it is my first madonna show and I know it's gonna be amazing, but some of these songs aren't all the ones I love. AGAIN, I see 'American Life' is ignored again except the DAD interlude, but c'mon how about tossing in some sexy rendition of "Hollywood" or a laid-back version of "Love Profusion" or "Nothing Fails". I'm happy that "Hollywood" isn't an interlude again, but in that case it should be brought out to be performed, but whatever. "Angel", "Dress You Up", two of the big-hit oldies that were rehearsed can't make it to the final cut. WHY!!!!????? "Impressive Instant" would've been a nice treat, but it's not that big of a deal to be replaced by "LAP". I just hope the new version is halfway enjoyable. "Ray of Light"????? I'm not sure what to say. The original album version is one of my all-time favorites. Excellent lyrics, meaning, and music. I can't get enough, but the live rock SHIT is way overworked. I mean c'mon???? Same as the Confessions version, which I didn't like that much, that's straight up REPITITION and should be abolished and replaced by something like "Nothing Really Matters" or "Don't Tell Me" or any of the other songs that were rehearsed and cut. So I guess, I'll be satisfied, but I'll feel kinda sorry for other people around me at the show who are repeat spectators knwoing it's a straight-up redo.

I am disappointed that "Dance 2night", "Everybody", and "Secret" aren't here but it's ok.


As for the costumes, they look cool, but I'd like to see the rave outift whenever a glimpse becomes available. The old school theme definitely looks like a combo of the "Hung Up" outfit and a boxing outfit. The big cape thing doesn't seem very practical. Surely she's not gonna wear that the whole time?
Perhaps it's something like what Sofia had on during most of "Isaac" on CT. A big cape, then removed for a shiny, nicer thing. Who knows???
The original version of "Ray of Light" would make sense for the trippy, bright atmosphere of a rave and the song. The original "Hung Up" would work better too. Although it's a disco song, a disco is a club, which is where a rave takes place, so it would make sense. But I guess there's gonna be the fucked-up rock versions.




WOW, LONG POST, BUT THAT'S IT

Well, we only have about 2 weeks to see what the final setlist will be. On the last two tours, she replaced two songs at the last minute. Lets hope that she replaces La Isla Bontia and Ray of Light for say, Who's That Girl or Open Your Heart and Holiday, Everybody or Dress You Up. I guess she is going these two songs AGAIN becuase she really does not have to reherse them since she performs these two lame songs everytime she gets on stage. I do not understand why. She has almost 30 years of hits and clearly she could retire these two for another two songs. YEAH!!!! BRING BACK THE SLUTTY MADONNA AND SLUTTY SONGS!!!!

Mark my words...this list is NOT final! NOT! FINAL! Something will change ... whether it's the song ORDER, or a SONG itself. I still don't think we've heard the last of "Everybody." And I don't think the last section is final...Like A Prayer, Ray of Light...something will still change. You don't need a week to rehearse and arrange a whole new song. The way Madonna works, you can add in a different song in one afternoon. She tweaks her shows up until the last second...I'm sure something will change.

If it's her who wants to change stuff like past times then they better be some good improvements. If someone else does then they better be REALLY, REALLY, REALLY PERSUASIVE with Madonna to convince her to throw in some the oldies that were cut or to add some never-before performed songs.

Remember, although we've seen this setlist that's called the "FINAL" one, there's still 2 WEEKS for some really good improvements.
