The new version of "Vogue" sounds promising. Finally a true reinvention of the song!

That setlist seems like it is getting better, but I would not count on anything until the first show on 8/23. Each week we keep hearing rumors of the setlst. I am exited about half of it. I just hope she scraps La Islan Bontia and Ray of Light. Those two songs are played way too much. Here is my suggestion:
Replace Human nature for Express Yourslf
Replace Heartbeat for Open Your Heart.
Replace La Isla Bonita for Who's That Girl
Replace You Must Love Me for Rain
Replace Impressive Instant for Dress You Up
Replace Ray of Light for Everybody or Where's The Party.

If the second section is really like they say it will be my favorite section EVER!! 4 fantastic songs in a row... It makes sense Borderline and Heartbeat are close, you can easily mix them up.
Indeed I don't like the final. But I think it's okay she doesn't end every show with Hung Up/Holiday/Music. She did that for too long!

Yeah - i just hope she doesnt use a new vocal track when she lip syncs it. That one on the reinvention was horrible. We all know shes lip synching it so why use a new vocal. I think they should move this to the last segment for the simple reason - there are no tracks in that last bit that make you go WOW - it will leave the crowd flat. If played before Give it 2 Me - those opening synth would send the crowd nuts.

Latest from Madonnatribe:

Since our previous exclusive report about the Human Nature/Gimme More mash up to be performed during the Sticky & Sweet tour a few things have changed.

The song, which is the third one in the set list, will still feature Britney on screens but has gone back to a more classic version of Madonna's Human Nature with just a few insert of Britney saying "It's Britney Bitch" along the way.

As you may remember we also reported that there are going to be more surprises in the set list. One more HUGE hit of Madonna's career is back and it's a fan favourite too. Vogue from the 1990 album "I'm Breathless" is indeed the fourth song in the show, coming after Human Nature and closes the first set of the show. Vogue is to be performed with a remarkable new arrangement containing samples and elements from 4 Minutes and Nelly Furtado's Promiscuos Girl. The people who apparently heard it say it's a great version.

We also previously reported that the First Album song Bordeline was part of the set. We can now add it comes in the second segment, after Heartbeat while Spanish Lesson now comes before Miles Away and not after.

To summarize it a bit here's a look at how things looks like right now!

Candy Shop
Beat Goes On
Human Nature
Vogue

Video Interlude
Into The Groove
Heartbeat
Borderline
She's Not Me
Music

Video Interlude
Devil Wouldn't Recognize You
Spanish Lesson
Miles Away
La Isla Bonita
You Must Love Me

Video Interlude
4 Minutes
Impressive Instant
Ray Of Light
Hung Up
Give It To Me

Well it looks like the setlist is a stayer. The first 2 segments are great - the last two are meh!. The finale looks shit. I may orgasm in the second segment though!

Yeah this set is very disappointing.

I want

Angel
Dress You Up
Beautiful Stranger
Power of Goodbye
Incredible
Burning Up
Deeper and Deeper
Rain

BOO!
I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

It looks pretty weak thus far. Although, it's my first show so I'm really excited and gonna be satisfied. They do say that there are more surprises and a big hit. We still should wait it out a bit until they give us some kind of "The Official Setlist has been confirmed" kinda notice.

They said "Dress You Up" and "Angel" were being rehearsed and those are good oldies and favorites that deserve some reviving so those BETTER BE ONE OF THOSE "BIG HITS" WE'RE WAITING TO HEAR ABOUT.

"Take A Bow", "Power of Goodbye", "Deeper and Deeper", "Hollywood", or "Love Profusion" should definitely be thrown in TOO.

WELL, IT'S ALMOST TIME AND WE'LL KNOW EVERYTHING SOON.

The thing is, I always think the setlists aren't good enough, but then i see the show and love it. I think this time though, most fans are disappointed with the whole Ray Of Light / La Isla Bonita inclusion. Just substituting those two for Deeper & Deeper and Who's That girl would instantly change the entire show for me and many other- and Id be happy. Id also move Vogue to the last segment, just before Give It To Me. The fans would go insane hearing the opening chord of Vogue just after the last note of Hung Up.

I do think its too late in the day to expect her to change it too much. The odd song may come and go - but id be very surprised if it was anything major. All we can hope is she has peeps keeping an eye on the fan boards because the opinion about ROL & LIB is pretty unanimous.

Because it's better to lipsynch to a new vocal than to the 1990 vocals. Remember this is what MJ never learned and he lipsynched to the 1979 vocals in 1997. razz

As for the last segment, no I believe "Vogue" shouldn't be in the last part, that would be too BAT. And to me the last segment has stuff that will make me WOW, especially "Impressive Instant", I can't wait to hear that!

To me the weakest segment is the 2nd one, simply because I don't want "Heartbeat" on the tour and the new version of "Music" doesn't excite me.

I'm glad she does Heartbeat!!

But who wants to see Spanish Lesson.. and yes, ROL she has done too much for my taste. I doubt she can perform it in a different style than during the last 7 shows.

I would have loved to see Open Your Heart and Angel and Dress You Up too.

hmmm This setlist is less than perfect.I truly hope that this won't be the final setlist. It needs a few more of her classic hits.

I like the fact that she's gonna do "Into The Groove".She now has a chance to do it right! I was disappointed with the RIT version, with all those silly lyrics from the Gap commercial version disbelief This time,I want her to sing it with the original 1985 lyrics!

"Borderline" is a wonderful surprise. How many years has it been since she performed it? The crowd is gonna go nuts when that song is performed.

I wonder if this show will have an acoustic segment? "Miles Away" is just ripe for the acoustic part.

To make this setlist perfect, these are the changes I would make...

Replace "La Isla Bonita" with "Like A Prayer".

Replace "Impressive Instant" with "Express Yourself"

Replace "You Must Love Me" with "Take A Bow"

Replace "Ray Of Light" with "Dress You Up".

If she made those changes,no one would be complaining at all wink

Not true. Unfortunately many fans still wish Madonna to sing never performed songs like "Nothing Really Matters" and they'd replace all of her hits with stuff like that. But I don't see why, I already accepted that she's doing new songs with usual hits with a few surprises.

About "Heartbeat": I'm not sure how accurate that choreography info is, but the "shoe changing" thing probably came from the lyrics, no? "If you could stand in my shoes then you would feel my heartbeat too"! biggrin

But wouldn't "Heartbeat" be just a 4 minutes waste of lipsynch? No way she can sing it live and I don't think the track is strong enough to please the crowd... sad

Mashed up with Fedde le Grande's "Put Your Hands Up For Detroit". I really like it - it brings a great energy to the song - it was the best performance on the promo tour. Great choreograpy. Also it brings back the original synth line at the end which is my favourite thing about the Music.

I reckon the second segment will have a retro new york vibe - grandmaster flash, afrika bambata etc.

I have some big (personal) news that I didn't wanna talk about before, but now I think it's okay to mention it lol

MY FRIEND WHO IS GOING TO THE SHOW WITH ME,KNOWS THE DRUMMER IN MADONNA'S NEW BAND! lol

She chatted with him recently and he told her "It should be no problem" when she asked about BACKSTAGE PASSES!!

I don't wanna get too excited because you never know how things can turn out,but I 'm beyond ecstatic lol

i don't think the setlist is complete. i just don't. and i remember things changed days before RIT - "I'm So Stupid" And "Dress You Up" were out, "Material Girl" was in. same for CT - "Deeper and Deeper" and "everybody" were gone, "erotica" and "la isla" were in their place.

yea, things are bound to change at the last minute. "Everybody" hasn't been done in awhile and didn't MTribe report that it was being rehearsed???
I definitely wanna see that.

A lot of those older ones were already brought out on RIT like, "Deeper and Deeper", "Burning Up", "Material Girl", "Crazy For You", "Papa Don't Preach", "Express Yourself", "Holiday".

I think it might be too soon to bring some of those out with the exception of "Vogue" and "Into the Groove".

"Angel", "Dress You Up", "Cherish, "Who's That Girl" and "Secret" are some that should be done again. Of course we're seeing "Borderline" and possibly "Holiday", but there are others that need to be brought back.

I REALLY WANT TO SEE SOMETHING FROM 'AMERICAN LIFE'!!! MTribe reported that all albums but 'Like A Prayer' are being represented, did they not??? Or was it DrownedM? Either way I know I read that from somewhere reliable.
And based on this current setlist I don't see anything. "American Life" or "Nobody Knows Me" would make a good interlude and I want to see something that's never been performed like "Love Profusion" or "Hollywood"

A single from American Life is one of the video interludes. Same for an Erotica single.

I'm trying to think of a setlist that would make ALL fans happy, hardcore and casual. You know she keeps throwin in Ray of Light and Music for the casuals.

It would probably look something like this in all honesty

Candy Shop
Lucky Star
Borderline
Material Girl
Give it 2 Me
4 Minutes
Hung Up
Music
Where's the Party
Into the Groove
Papa Don't Preach
Express Yourself
Don't Tell Me
Human Nature
Bad Girl
Deeper and Deeper
Frozen
Devil Wouldn't Recognize You
Rain
Vogue
She's Not Me
Burning Up
Holiday

Take A Bow
Ray of Light
Like A Prayer
I'll leave it alone babe...just be me
