does anyone else like this song??? Does anyone else like MacArthur Park I love it myself for a number of reasons. 1 of which is how incredibly strange it is as a pop song. The lyrics are bloddy weird talking about melting cakes (and thats the chorus) its 8 minutes long and is unbelievably complicated with thosands of chord changes and transitions. It was written by songwriter Jimmy Webb and sung by an actor adding to the strangeness Richard Harris. If youve never heard it check it out below and let me know what you think. If you have heard it let me know what you think about it I cant be the only person who likes it>>>

I like this song as well. I found this out about it's meaning, from a music webiste...
Jimmy Webb (from Q magazine): "It's clearly about a love affair ending, and the person singing it is using the cake and the rain as a metaphor for that. OK, it may be far out there, and a bit incomprehensible, but I wrote the song at a time in the late 1960s when surrealistic lyrics were the order of the day." "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

Everybody and their mama has remade this one. It's a classic and Jimmy Webb is a brilliant songwriter.
