in her 2004 smash hit we belong tohether mariah start song with melody and words to commodores sweet love.
was that by accident or direct nod to the commodores

Why am I not surprised that it is one of their slow songs? I knew when I opened this thread, that she wouldn't be making reference to one their jams such as "I Feel Sanctified". lol

Umm Fly Like a Bird sounds so damn close to Deniece Williams' Free it is ridiculous but nobody has paid that attention either...

What if we wrote in to Clive Davis and requested that Whitney do a remake of "Fancy Dancer" by The Commodores?
