"stay" is arguably bowie's funkiest song ever, the title track is epic, and "word on a wing" and "wild is the wind" are fantastic slow jams. it's short and sweet - a very lean album.

Love the Title track. Does anyone know if this album will be given the deluxe treatment like Young Americans,Ziggy, Aladdin etc? If so, I'm hoping for a 5.1 surround sound version like YA. It sounds incredible. Fantasy is reality in the world today. But I'll keep hangin in there, that is the only way.

It sounds incredible. there have been rumblings that one of the most popular bootlegs from the thin white duke tour is going to be released in the next year or two, perhaps even as a DVD. i don't know if STS is getting the deluxe anniversary treatment (it would be nice), though i think that whole series of deluxe rereleases started declining with diamond dogs and young americans. maybe i should give the YA one a chance, because i've heard a lot of fans praising it. i'm just not enough of an audiophile to care about the sound quality. i want pages and pages of liner notes and tons of bonus tracks.

Yes you should. I will say the benefit for me is the 5.1 surround sound. And I admit I'm a bit of an audiophile. The 5.1 really opens up the album.Gives it space and depth. For the non-audiophiles, I could see the deluxe version of YA not being necessary. . Fantasy is reality in the world today. But I'll keep hangin in there, that is the only way.

Word on a Wing is the real gem of the album and one of my all time Bowie favs "Old man's gotta be the old man. Fish has got to be the fish."

Remember, he did write for Iggy Pop, Lou Reed, and others "Old man's gotta be the old man. Fish has got to be the fish."

I was just a kid then and didn't care for Bowie but I paid attention of that song because of him. Keep in my mind he was from the vaudeville, swing, world war II era, so in retrospect, that's pretty cool. Fantasy is reality in the world today. Bowie is god and 'Station to Station' is why. Besides every other 70s album.

Station To Station is my 2nd favourite Bowie album (1st is Low), there are no weak spots here. And it is the only Bowie album to be "mentioned" in a Kraftwerk song (Trans Europe Express, but only in the english version);
Hm, I have not listened to this album for quite a time, I guess it's time to put some Bowie on right now...
