Usher better start buying his own CD if he ever wants to go Platinum!

Usher's new cd is terrible! How does the rest of the org compare it to his previous releases?

That song " in Da Club" is ridiculous. He is dumbing his music down. He should stick with what works for him. He needs to forget the Dirty South Shit! Next he will be wearing Grills. lol

ATL has a different vibe (musically) than Houston/Memphis and other cities from the south. Besides, I don't think Usher will be wearing the latest Paul Wall grill EVER.

He's just so ordinary. He & Justin can battle it out for the title of "most inoffensive & bland"

agree with what most everyone is saying about Usher - really never understood why he is even popular

The CD is a dud (outside the hit single which is definitly typical of todays sorry ass music)

However, I do like the title track "Here I Stand" - this ones a nice mix of India Arie and Stevie and a good R&B ballad and he finally does not sound forced like on most of his tracks

Exactly, basically the loyals already got the damn thing, so in terms of a porno movie "he already shot his load". Not saying the number isnt impressive, but if you are getting all this hype and promo behind you, you better find a way to get the numbers up. Its like paying a baseball player 50million a year to bat .250

I just think the first single is a POOPFEST, while the album has redeeming qualities.

I believe that Mariah is listed as having the biggest opening week sales this year so far according to Soundscan, but that number is probably in dispute, since Radiohead's "In Rainbows" sold well over a million downloads in the first week but wasn't charted by Soundscan. I think Lastdecember could probably elaborate on this.

Exactly. The reason being, is that soundscan is the "accepted" way, that contributes $$ to all the labels, and "personal" websites DONT, so they DONT get tracked. The BULL of this reasoning is that "personal" webssites cant be trusted, which is crap because a download from Radiohead.Com is the same as iTunes, the same database entries, all can be verified, in fact, PERSONAL websites are more verifiable than iTunes and others.

but since most of those "sales" were "free" they're not going to count anyway. shrug
