Kewl, thanks for the link. She makes sense.

Those lyrics don't look entirely accurate, that's not even counting typos. Anyway she's something a little different and fresh yeah, won Mercury Music Prize (UK equivalent of the award NERD just won in USA) and MOBOs this year for her album.

She seems to be a very cool person.
The LP didn't really grow on me, her voice somewhat reminds me of Res (i prefer "How i do" much better though), it lacks of style & directions, she tried too many options IMHO. But it's definitly interesting and could evolve a nice way.

Well I just copied and pasted them from her site, so... "That...magic, the start of something revolutionary-the Minneapolis Sound, we should cherish it and not punish prince for not being able to replicate it."-Dreamshaman32

Well I just copied and pasted them from her site, so... Yeah I wasn't dissing you, just giving her more credit than those badly transcribed lyrics. Interestingly Prince bigs her up as something different to America when her album was written and produced with/in USA.

oh kewl. Interestingly Prince bigs her up as something different to America when her album was written and produced with/in USA.
Really? More than likely it's because he heard about her in the UK cuz we ain't heard a peep from her here. Guess he was commenting moreso on what's being promoted here rather than just produced. Can I tell you how much I LOVE Ms. Dynamite???
I found out about her on a trip to London with my cousin! I actually have the single they released after "It Takes More", which I guess is her signature song "Ms.Dynamy-te": It's a nostalgia jam (think Stevie's "I Wish" theme), but completely with the Brittish/Jamaican R&B flair (as she muses on the simpler days gone by and her grandma's rice and peas...) I was hoping that the American audience would discover her-let's just keep our fingers crossed that they'll hear what she has to say eventually...

Thanx for this thread, I was about to write her off. I read what Prince said about her and still wrote her off, which is unusual for me. Usually, if he bigs someone up, I go and check them out for myself.
After reading the lyrics, I can see the attraction. I find it hard to get into the music and style, yet I really like the message that is coming through with this. So thanx for the alert.
