From what I can gather, Jimi was into Eric's thing but Eric spent a good part of his career trying to outdo Hendrix, so in Eric's case, it was probably grudging respect due to the fact that he was never as innovative as Jimi was. | |

Out of all of the groups from that era Cream and the JHE were my favorites of the power trios.
Others have tried the power trio format in different configurations. This was supposed to be Cream on steroids. Jeff wanted to work with these guys after Rod and Woody left and he got his wish four years later.
