Just a thought, but folk who post links to youtube clips could maybe say a little bit about the clips and why they have chosen them? Otherwise it's just a bit pointless, cos anyone can go into youtube and use the search function.
Anyways, The Jam are one of my fave bands ever. They did some great albums, and also perfected the now-dying art of the non-album single (Going Underground, for example. How can a band have the balls to leave that off an album?! ) Style Council? A few good early singles (Shout To The Top, Walls Come Tumbling Down, Speak Like A Child) but ultimately a glossy, horribly mid-80's snoozefest. Again, his solo work has a few early gems (It All Came To Pieces In My Hands being a favourite, as is Hung Up) but it's mostly tired Dad Rock, to my ears. This is not an exit

I agree with the points made about The Jam but TSC were also an excellent band, admittedly they lost their way a bit circa Cost Of Loving in 87 but came back with Weller's most experimental album ever Confessions Of A Pop Group. I agree that his solo career is a tad stale apart from his excellent solo debut. Oh and It Just Came To Pieces In My Hands was not a Weller solo track it was b-side to TSC's A Solid Bond In Your Heart from 83.

Oops, my mistake! I remembered it was a B side, but I thought it was off Ever Changing Moods or something.. I stand corrected! This is not an exit

I was gonna see him live here in chicago a couple of years ago but ticket sales were so low they canceled the show. he doesn't get the credit he deserves here in the states. I love all of his work especially TSC. the later TSC albums were not as good as my ever changing moods and internationalist (u.s name) but "you do something to me" is one of my favorite songs. Paul weller is the name. He set the tone for Brand New Heavies and Oasis and a lot of others

LOVED IT! Also Dee's version of "Angel" and the title cut stand up pretty well. TSC's last release of house music is one of the decade's/genre's best albums imo.

Not saying it was a bad album, just poor compared to the other TSC releases. I think the production let the album down but there are some good songs on there.

'Internationalists' was one of the best pop albums of the 80's. Easily.

I love "The Cost of Loving" album.... basically, I love most of the TSC stuff My favorite songs were Angel, Heavens Above, Waiting, and It Didn't Matter "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. I guess Bboy followed through on his promise.
Over the years on prince.org, I've been ranting and raving about the wonderful music of Paul Weller and his projects. I've said so many great things that I don't really think I can add anything new that I've already stated about the man. Well, one thing I can say that he's gracefully eased his way into age 50 this month. And that is something to be quite proud of! THE MODFATHER RULES!!! 'Internationalists' was one of the best pop albums of the 80's. Easily. Yes, and one of the most underrated. And outside of the U.S. it's called "Our Favorite Shop", which just got a great remastered edition last year. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

You know what's funny, considering that Paul was never a superstar here in America, he amazingly sold out 3 nights of his 30th anniversary show here in New York. Seriously, there were people all over the world flocking to see the man. But the whole time, I had in mind that this was somebody that I never thought would sell out arenas, and yet I'm seeing sold out tix going for hundreds on craigslist. It still perplexes me. And his Los Angeles shows are always quick sell-outs... He usually adds dates and after-shows to meet demand... ps, loving his latest photo shoot --
