I'm pretty sure it was intended for Invincible. It came out as part of the Ultimate Collection box set. I know another artist ended up recording it, but the name escapes me.

It is alright..but some of the other stuff on the Ultimate Collection is 10X better. biggrin

Yeah, I also kinda prefer Glenn Lewis' version! It's a great song! There is also a version floating around which is mixed together... they both do a duet there!

Michael recorded Fall Again in 1998 or 1999. The song wass mainly written by the same one who wrote the Titanic song!
During the recordings Michael's son became ill and had to go to the hospital. Michael stopped the recording process for awhile..
Well so yeah, it was intended for Invincible.

There is also one more R. Kelly song MJ recorded in 1999. Kelly gave him three, Cry, One More Chance and ???

There are so many songs left from those Invincible sessions.

He writes great songs. He's exactly the kind of artist/producer that Michael should be working with right now, instead of those silly shit hop guys like Akon disbelief

Diane Warren was not involved with Fall Again, at least it doesn't sound like something of hers.

I have a feeling R. Kelly's World's Greatest was the third one. That song always gave me a michael vibe.

According to ASCAP, it was written by WALTER N AFANASIEFF and ROBIN A THICKE. It doesn't list MJ as a writer.

Fall Again details from "For The Record" (book)

FALL AGAIN
Song Michael planned to complete and include on his 2001 album,
INVINCIBLE, but when his son Prince was taken ill he didn’t have time
to finish it and it didn’t make the album.
‘We worked to the point that we were three-fourths of the way
finished,’ confirmed Walter Afanasieff in January 2000, ‘then the
incident happened when his son got very sick. We’re going to have to
reserve a little spot to finish the song.’
Demo version, recorded in 1999, released in November 2004 as one of
the previously unreleased tracks on THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION
box-set.
Recorded by Glenn Lewis – his version featured on the soundtrack
album, MAID IN MANHATTEN, issued in late 2002.
Fake duet version by Michael and Glenn Lewis surfaced on the internet
in 2005

In addition, the background vocals on Mj's version are by Robin Thicke.

I agree about Robin Thicke- he is the kind of producer Mj should be working with.

nod Robin Thicke is into REAL SONGS....with good lyrics and an actual melody.I don't know why Michael is more impressed with lame shit hop "producers" like Akon and the boring Ne-Yo.Neither of these guys have written anything as substantial as "Lost Without U" or "Can You Believe".

I've read that MIchael wanted that song but Kelly didn't want to give it to Michael. If MJ would have recoded the song I'm sure it would have been on Vince.

On one hand I believe that, because it does sound very Michael-ish. However, at the same time, the song is clearly about boxing on some level, "back against the ropes." I just can't picture Michael singing it. Also, a lot of people who follow Michael's career and bio, probably think to a certain degree he is "arrogant." That being said, it is usually in a roundabout way. ("The Legend Continues" "The One" - shit like that) And it isn't usually, ON DISPLAY. I think this song would have been a bit over the top. He might as well have called the album, "THE BEST" lol (It is one thing for me a fan, to think Michael is one of the best living entertainers, (I do), but it takes on a whole different meaning if he sings about that belief - HIMSELF.

That is the one thing that pisses me off about Michael. He can release these DVD valentine cards to himself, that have people talking about how great he is, with this AMAZING footage of his performances. Can't he just release this AMAZING footage and let it speak for itself? Why does he have it say it? Can't he just CONVEY it?

Oh well..maybe one day. cool
