Damian Dame "Right Down to It"

Talking with another poster made me think of this song again. It's one of my favorites of 1991. Damian Dame was the first act signed to the newly-formed LaFace Records and they went straight to #1 with their debut single, "Exclusivity." The follow-up, "Right Down to It," was a smooth mid-tempo number that showcased the vocals of Damian. I fell in love with it the first time I heard it and I still think it's one of Babyface's best songs. It almost did as well as its predecessor, peaking at #2. Sadly, both Deah and Damian passed away before they could record a follow-up album, but they left us with a few gems.

This is one of my favorites from 1991. I played the hell out of this cd. I really loved the remix of Exclusivity and Gotta Learn My Rhythm (which...I believe...was Jermaine Dupri's first "professional" gig).

I think she just died in a car accident, but the rest is correct.

phunkdaddy, Damian's solo album had virtually no distribution, but I believe there are some floating out there. It definitely didn't make a dent anywhere.

When did Damian do a solo album? Do you know what label it was released on?
