Mark Knopfler - Kill to Get Crimson Tour 2008

Anyone else going to see this ?

I saw him at the Royal Albert Hall, London last night and he was just great. He played non-stop for over two hours and he can still astound with his guitar skills.

As well as the solo stuff, Brothers in Arms, Romeo and Juliet, Sultans of Swing, So Far Away and Telegraph Road were all present and correct.

Mark doesn't get enough recognition, the man is a serious talent and it's not in the popular songs.

True, he's often written off as 'that bloke who used to be in Dire Straits that does sleepy rock'.

There are some absolute gems hidden among the solo albums like Speedway of Nazareth, The Scaffolders Wife, What It Is, Darling Pretty,Why Aye Man, 5:15am etc.

He proved last night that he's a consumate musician. More of a craftsman than a performer.

So true, I've only seen video of his live shows, I'd love to see him in person.

I'll be seeing the tour when it comes to L.A.

...Outside of good songs and fine playing, he makes some good sounding recordings.

Yes, he has a great production technique. All his stuff sounds crystal clear as do all the Dire Straits albums now they've been remastered.

His live sound is really powerful and clear as well, at least it was in London last night.

Double post, sorry.

He does have a great production technique. His albums all sound crystal clear and so does the Dire Straits stuff since it was remasetered in '96.

His live sound is really powerful and clear too and his guitar tone rings out like a bell, particularly when he's playing the Gibson. So distinctive.
