the bass reminds me of MJ's "Another Part Of Me"

I wish he did more songs like this. He did a few. Surprisingly, most of his "upbeat" tracks are on a budget collection, called "Stop To Love". Includes a good amount of poppier dance tracks. I wrote the only review on Amazon for it. Take a look.

Thanks. I appreciate that. I recently got a comment form a friend that read something I wrote and said maybe I should look into writing album reviews. What a dream that would be. I've always treated it as a hobby, of course. Plus, considering the diatribe I wrote on the recent Donna Summer album on Amazon, I'm not sure if it's everyone's cup of tea. Might be cool to do on the side when I have an actual job, though.

Harlepolis

He gots to be the BADDEST background vocals arranger ever. I love the lil' tricks and stuff he did in the background,,,,and I love the fact that he hired the FIERCEST session singers,,,all through his career.

IMO, it's a notch below "The Night I Fell In Love". But both are great.

Amen to that. My favorite Luther song.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

This is the Luther that I really dug. His smoothed out stuff is ok, but this is the song/album in which he comes across as not just a great singer, but as a musician. I remember seeing this video on America's top 10 and thinking (for a minute) that Luther was the coolest mofo on the planet.
A happy face, A Thumpin Bass, For A Lovin' Race. PEACE.

Night is a polished slicked-up version of NTM. This was his fourth album and Luther had his crowd. When the "NTM" track busted. Mugs was stoppin and checkin'it out, as well as poppin' those Marcus Miller bass riffs. Then, tried to sing "House", but ya had to go see Luther live to get it right.

One of the best album of the 80s

It's definately his best album for the jam "(She's A) Super Lady" alone. This was back when Luther wasn't afraid to get down and wasn't known for all that "love" shit (yuck) that he became known for later.
