How a Madonna/Prince Tour Could Work.

I know this was a thread already but I couldn't find it. Anyways I was giving it some thought and I think I've figured out how two oversized egos could share the same stage.

The main obstacle to me would be the stage and band. Eliminate this obstacle by having both artists share the same stage(more on this later) AND the same band. My choice would be for Prince's band to support BOTH artists, and if Madonna could keep up with the arrangements good for her. Otherwise have the band cater to Madonna's whim while she is on stage.

Having the same stage would make it easy for the artists to switch during the show, which eliminates the second obstacle: Who goes on when? I say BOTH artists open and end the show with duets. Then one artist leaves the stage for the other throughout the show. For kicks they can do quite a bit of mash-ups and duets throughout the show.

Well...?

Anxiety

i don't think there'd be enough overlap in their audiences for it to be a success, plus i think prince and madonna have wildly different philosophies about what fans should pay for tickets.

Well Prince seems to think so. He obviously likes her and respects her. I would like to see these two go on tour together, but they wouldn't be my first choice. Now, Madonna and Janet touring together would make more sense imo. They seem to have very similar fanbases and both make music that could fall under the pop/dance genre. As for Prince, I think he should tour with Teena Marie. She's a big fan and a female version of him in many ways, so I think that would be cool.
"And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ heart

"Baby, that was much too fast"...Goodnight dear sweet Prince. I'll love you always heart

i'd go see a Madonna/Prince tour rather than a MJ/Prince tour. rolleyes
But it would have to be a 6 hour concert...3 for her and 3 for him.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Please,not a Madonna/Janet tour disbelief hmph!

There are certain artists who don't need a co-headliner.Madonna is one of them.Prince is another.I wouldn't wanna see a tour with two major superstars on the same bill.

That would be THE biggest money-making tour of all time. That would be the most sought after tour and unprecedented in so many ways.

No,for the encore, the two of them will strap on their guitars and play a 10-minute version of "Take Me With U" and then they will perform her song "Take A Bow" as a duet too.

No it wouldn't. I think Madonna combining with a certain other 80’s icon would make bigger money/headlines/whatever

Madonna could be a stage hand. She might be more talented in that area.

Madonna touring with Prince isn't a good idea. Reason being Prince being such a genius of a live artist would humiliate Madonna on each show, because unlike her he doesn't need backing dancers and stage props to make up for lack of natural talent.

Anyway I hate the idea of seeing Prince touring with Madonna. She should tour with Justin Timberlake, as he like her is an overrated talent and a product not an musician.

They have too much baggage -- personal and professional -- for such a pairing to ever work.

Ain't gonna happen. Prince would agree to it in a heartbeat (would mean a lot more dough for him), but Madge doesn't need him in any way, shape or form to move buckets of ducats.

File this one under "Crazy Bullshit That Won't Happen in a Million Years".

I can actually see this happening towards the end of the next decade. Two of the greatest touring superstars teaming up won't really be a surprise by the time record sales are dead, and the artists will have to take any opportunity to keep the audience interested in their tours...
