Have you ever been on this type of a "TRIP?" Have you ever been on a discovery trip with a certain artist and get to the end of it and start to feel sad?
What I mean is that have you ever start listening to an artist, realize that you like them and have to have EVERYTHING they've made but once you come into the realization that you are coming close to having all of their CD's, get sad that the trip is almost over? I'm at that point with Funakdelic. I've spent the past 2 years buying all of their albums. It started with "Standing On The Verge"(from hearing "I'll Stay" from a RH Factor CD) and then I went back and started with the "Funkadelic" album from '69 and now I just got the "Uncle Jam" CD..I know its only 1 or 2 more Funkadelic CD's left....I'm sad... but I must admit, this has been a HELL of a ride!

Her..
I spent an effort tracking the stuff she recorded and produced for other people(with and post-Rene Moore). I felt kinda bummed when I had all the stuff. She doesn't have THAT long of a career, I guess becoz she quit when she was @ the height of her career.

Its such a weird feeling...its almost one of incompleteness..I cant describe it..even tho Funkadelic has MANY albums, it seems like they should have made many more...I think Im just insatiable when it comes to FUNKADELIC.. I remember almost being depressed when I got the last LIVING COLOUR cd..it just seems criminal that they have so few albums.. [Edited 5/24/08 11:28am]

Well, you could prolong things by adding all the Parlet, Bootsy, Bernie Worell stuff and looking for the singles from the late 60's, especially the original verion of Testify.
There's also the Bill Laswell P-Funk collaboration called Axiom Funk, The Funkronimicon and his group called Material released an album in / '91 called The Third Power that has many P-Funk players on it as well as horns by Maceo, Fred and Pee Wee. Killer version of Cosmic Slop on this one. Your journey's not over yet, my friend. Don't know if it will ever see the light of day or how good it will be but George is working with Sly Stone in the studio right now. I think if Sly is going to be able to make any kind of a quality comeback record right now he's gonna need some serious help and who'd be better able to do it than Clinton... providing they can stay away from the party favors of course.
