Cocoon by Bjork

I utterly love this song... these personal lyrics touch me deeper than anything Prince has done the last 10 years...

Who would have known
That a boy like him
Would have entered me lightly
Restoring my blisses

Who would have known
That a boy like him
After sharing my core
Would stay going nowhere

Who would have known
A beauty this immense
Who would have known
A saintly trance
Who would have known
Miraculous breath
To inhale a beard
Loaded with courage

Who would have known
That a boy like him
Possessed of magical
Sensitivity
Who would approach a girl like me
Who caresses cradles his head
In her bosom

He slides inside
Half awake, half asleep
We faint back
Into sleephood
When I wake up
The second time
In his arms
Gorgeousness
He's still inside me

Who would have known
Who ahhh
Who would have known

A train of pearls
Cabin by cabin
Is shot precisely
Across an ocean

From a mouth
From a
From the mouth
Of a girl like me
To a boy
To a boy
To a boy

Nevermind Prince, probably the last of the Bjork stuff I really enjoyed.

Heh, I read this reaction and then your AMAZING Britney/Talking Heads (Slave 4 U/Seen And Not Seen) mash-up came on... I think it's the most perfect mash-up I ever heard... Another thanks for putting it together...

Back on topic; I remember hearing this song and having to sit down cuz it was such a personal lyric and it was like she bared the soul of her love.
And I am still amazed.

Yeah, this is really a great song. And there are so many great songs on that album that to me it's great that something this good is actually not one of my top favorites from it.

Oh, and thanks for not posting that wacko video lol
"Try to remember how you used to feel about me
and think about how you're treating me now.
Then try to reconcile them, if you can.
But you don't even remember, do you?"

He initially did, but then read the reactions on the youtube clip and remembered how Orgers like to moan and went for this one.

My God- I forgot just how beautiful the lyrics were to "Cocoon:

"Who would have known
A beauty this immense
Who would have known
A saintly trance
Who would have known
Miraculous breath
To inhale a beard
Loaded with courage"
"There is no such thing in life as normal..."

It makes us mere dabblers with words.

When I heard the song for the first time I could not believe that first verse. So intimate.

I still blus a bit when I hear it now. It is intimate, yet so revealing in so many ways...
