Inspired by my fellow nWo comrade, LBC (LittleBLUECorvette), I've decided to host my own appreciation thread of, like Gene Chandler, another underrated R&B/soul performer, a lady that goes by the name of Mary Esther Wells (1943-1992). Now I know that everyone knows her Motown HITS but she had a collection of great songs that for some reason failed to make the charts and during her 30-year (1960-1990) career she covered a WHOLE lot of ground singing early soul, Motown pop, doo-wop, gritty R&B and soul courtesy of the Womacks, and finally the disco scene in the early 1980s, I run down a list of hits by this legendary lady of the Motor City.
