In all honesty, I think I'd rather hear the echo of the guy in the stall next to me, squeezing out farts as he takes a dump, than hear the "music" of Michael Bolton. At least the former is coming from a necessary, if unsavory, natural act. Bolton is squeezing his aural sh!t out of his mouth ON PURPOSE!

Michael Bolton was always wack, but when "Can I Touch You (dot dot dot) There?" came out, I knew we were dealing with something like a phenomenon.

Well, hey they got me on those two songs.

I like Diane Warren. As a matter of fact I think Beyonce and Diane Warren should write together for Bee's next CD.

(Oh s***. I see people about to throw stuff at me. Aw c'mon not the chair.)

Look in your record collection and tell me there isn't a Diane Warren penned song somewhere.

Naw, look at the CD in the back. Do you see "Set The Night To Music" by Roberta Flack?

No?

OK, uh do you have DeBarge's Greatest Hits?

No? Kewl. You're doing good.

BUT somehow, somewhere someway your CD collection will have a Diane Warren penned song in it.

Tomorrow at work "Look Away" by Chicago will come on.

On your way home "How Can I Live Without You" will come on.

Diane is in the same Illuminati as Oprah and Bill Gates. Just like every house has a computer and Oprah on TV each afternoon.....Diane's song is in your house.

i like neil too, though i don't own any of his music. he seems like an intelligent, talented guy with lots of history.

actually, there's a lot of "easy listening" i do enjoy, from the mamas & the papas to the carpenters to olivia newton john to burt bacharach to sade.

but even to list those people in the same thread as michael bolton's skanky perm mullet ass...if i wasn't a mod i'd ban myself! disbelief

I would seriously go see Olivia Newton-John live if she ever tours again. At the very least I owe her for dressing up in black spandex in Grease for me when I was nine.

it might make me a little sad to see her perform post-chloemania, especially because i always want olivia to be in a peasant blouse and legwarmers with a glow in the dark purple aura. sigh

I actually do own ONE CD with a Diane Warren penned tune on it. I have an Aerosmith compilation with that gawd-awful "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" song on it. She wrote that steaming aural turd. I can honestly say I've always skipped that song, and didn't bother to transfer it to my iPod. I absolutely detest that tune, and I have yet to hear anything by her that didn't make me want to vomit in my mouth a bit. Her songs are pure drek.

Oh, and Oprah is NOT on my TV each afternoon! Ugh!

Diane Warren's written a whole mess of crap, but there are a few good ones in there. Rather, I should say she's written a few that I like. lol

I Get Weak - Belinda Carlisle
Don't Turn Around - Aswad
Love Will Lead You Back - Taylor Dayne
If I Could Turn Back Time and Just Like Jesse James - Cher (yeah, I like that shit)
Solitaire - Laura Branigan
Who Will You Run To - Heart
If You Asked Me To - Patti LaBelle

For me, the worst of the worst is:

Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now - Starship
When I See You Smile - Bad English
I Don't Want to Miss a Thing - Aerosmith
How Do I Live - that backwoods chick who looks inbred
How Can We Be Lovers - Michael Bolton
Rhythm of the Night - DeBarge

Yes, I took the time to look these up to make sure I wasn't talking through my butt. lol I knew there had to be some I liked. www.realsongs.com

ALL those songs I have are on greatest hits comps. Heart is the only group of which I'd buy a studio album.

I may have liked "Rhythm Of The Night" for a month when I was 15. It was on The Last Dragon soundtrack. nod
