Well, it's not as if Prince stands stone still while on stage. But because his musicianship is so strong, I mean his guitar playing alone can knock you right out of your shoes, Prince doesn't have to revert to onstage gimmicktry to keep the audience entertained. And it is fun to see audience members get up on stage and act a fool.

And no, I'm not basing my opinions only on the 30th Anniversary Celebration TV special, though it is telling that a legend has to lip-synch his way through it. MJ's video for "You Rock My World" showed nothing new. And if MJ toured now, the show would probably be full of fireworks and props, MJ showing up on stage in a cherry picker or something, but his same, tired moves, ie., pointing to the sky, stilted, robotic dancing, freezing in place for about an hour a la the Super Bowl would still be there.
And in 20 or 30 years if they're both still living, God willing, I think a Prince show would be far more entertaining than watching MJ push his walker back and forth across the stage screaming Beat It.

I heard his album and all he does is rip off either MJ or Prince, and the sad thing about it is that it took both those artist years to get recognition at a time when both radio and tv ignored black artists...and this guy is automatically being put a pedstal as the saviour of R'n'B, when all know he is a contrived puppet from a manufactered boyband who has now decided to go urban (which is so watered down right now that u don't even have to have talent to have a hit single) cause that is what is selling at the moment.

Maybe if Justified spent 38 weeks at No 1 (Thriller spent 37 weeks) and sold over $50 million copies etc, then maybe he is the new KOP and we'll be impressed....but until then MJ still has the title!
