"Move Me No Mountain" - Chaka OR Dionne? The wail after the bridge(Chaka) sends some SERIOUS shivers down my spine One of my fave yet underrated tunes.

There's also the original version by Love Unlmited, but I really like both Chaka and Dionne's takes--- well, OK, Chaka is still my favorite , but I really like both approaches to the tune...I'm not so hot on the Love Unlimited version.... ... I thought Dionne's was the original,,,,learn something new everyday. I don't picture myself liking the original either, aside from the fabulous production of Barry White, I assume

The Love Unlimited version does nothing for me. And the first woman on that album cover looks like Star Jones. Hope she didn't marry a gay man.
Anyway, the production on Dionne's is superb and she sings it well, but Chaka outdoes her vocally on this one. Both are very good though.

Found this quote on the main user page for the person who uploaded the Dionne clip:
Writes Nick Tosches, the renowned writer, rock music journalist, novelist, biographer and poet in the January 7, 1972 issue of the rock magazine FUSION; "...getting into Dionne Warwick is like finding buried treasure. It's pure emotion. There is a whole lot more to emotion than some rock punk bursting his dexedrine-staved blood vessels by screaming "Baby I need you baby" into a microphone. Dionne Warwick is not a rock and roll singer. She's not a jazz singer either. Rhythm and blues? Nope. A pop singer? No way. Did you ever tongue-kiss with someone who barfed a Singapore Sling bolus into your mouth, and then four years later you're with someone else and you feel good and you realize how beautiful it all was and then it's all melancholy/happiness, sort of? That's the kind of singer Dionne Warwick is. She's beautiful. If you've never gotten into her, you ought to. Get hep to Dionne Warwick. For your own sake."
