my mama had this one
and Lady Soul on vinyl
when I was a kid...

she loved "Rock Steady"
when I got to be an adult
I went back to the album
and fell in love with it as a whole

my fav from there is probably
"Daydreaming" or "Oh Me Oh My"
"be who you are and say what you feel
because those who mind don't matter
and those who matter don't mind."

I love Rock Steady, but I can never remember (until I see the song title) if it's Steady Rock or Rock Steady and which title is this and which is by The Whispers. lol

Love this album. rock steady has always been one of my favourite Aretha cuts, but this also has Oh Me Oh My & First Snow in Kokomo - two massively underrated Aretha gems.

The only song i cant get with it her version of Otis' "Ive been loving you..", and thats because it just makes me want to put Ike & Tinas version on....Tina sings the shit out of that song. Cant really imagine Aretha gettin dirty with a mirophone.....
