Hip Hop in Europe

Hipp Hop has been one of the bigggest things on thscene here in The US for the last 8 years. But I want to know about Europe.

Although a country like Germany listens to it I'mnot sure about Britain. WHat are the largest music forms in Europe? I know Pop and SOul are big. Not sure Rock is the big thing anymore, Hip Hop is alot larger than it was. But then there's Dance and Electronic music. These are the 2 forms of music that are hard to find in The US but are on the charts in Europe. I would say for The 80s and 90s it was one of the biggest things especially if you count Pop groups that use syntheseizers and electronics like Duran Duran,Kylie Minogue, and now Madonna. Hip Hop has hit it big in EUrope but kind of interesting.

Europe for instance has plenty of white rappers. Something almost unseen on The US video and radio scene. SOmthing like Eminem wouldn't be so shocking there. Hip Hop and Soul are also heavily mixed with Techno and House music there. Don't know if you can count Technotronic,Snap and 2 Unlimited as amongst the first rappers in The Hip Hop scene in Europe. The First EuroHop song I can recalol is '87 speaking of Neenah Cherry's Buffalo Stance.

Hip Hop like Electronic music is big around the world now. Don't know if it is as violent and money greeded as US styles of Hip Hop are. ABout when did Hip Hop get big in Europe, I'm guessing The Mid 90s around '95. I know Europe is 1 vibe and the mix alot of music liek Electronic is mixtures of all kinds of music. But what would you say is bigger Hip Hop, Rave and dancestyled Hip Hop, or are the equally as popular? I mean amongst blacks really cause as I said there is just 1 mainstream there sort of and blacks don't have as seperate racially oriented culture as others do in The US and other countries.

ANd what's hot is not always what's on TV and radio. SO list to me what would be the hot styles amonngst people on the streets& you know versus on radio and Top Of The Pops. And give me some names I would like. It can be Hip Hop or Sould. I know Raptile and Team Eimbush as well as Frankie. Don't know if The Sugarbabes would fall under Soul. I liked Mark Morrison although Return of The Mack wasn't available on Itunes or Napster.

I'm not a big hip hop fan, but some songs are cool.....as for European hip hop, there is this dutch hip hop crew De Jeugd Van Tegenwoordig (Today's Youth)and they're quite funny and clever, and don't take theirselves too seriously.

This tune has a great beat and loop to to it, Snoop Dogg totally loved it and played it at a gig in Amsterdam just recently.
