I love them both, but I prever Stevie's version. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Stevie's version "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

"big ol' piece of cake!"
Love Stevie's version, his vocal percussion on this is just unreal..matter of fact, Music Of My Mind is criminally underrated in any discussion of Stevie's classic 70's run. Not a bad track on here as far as I'm concerned and to my ears, "Girl Blue" sounds like music that's still on the horizon..that's how in the zone Stevie was. they go together
but if I had to pick one it would be Syreeta's much more funkier to me because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

I get all uber excited when I hear that sound effect start up (sound like Atari or something LOL) same with "I'm Goin Left" from SWP... Syreeta that sound effect & her giggle lets me know musical bliss awaits because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

The bottom line for me is I much prefer Stevie's take on the chorus. Being used to his version, it took me a long time to adjust to the syncopation of Syreeta's "I love"s... and I still find them a little jarring. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis
