New Group: ONE FLEW SOUTH Hey, all -- Frequent reader (and infrequent poster) Kevin here again to give you all the heads up on a phenomenal new vocal trio, One Flew South, which I'm personally proud to be connected to, since my brother is in it... Their debut album came out this Tuesday on Universal's revamped Decca label and is available on iTunes, Amazon, etc, and in Best Buy and chain music stores all over the country. If you're into the tight harmonies of The Eagles, CSN (and sometimes Y) or homage groups like The Thorns, you NEED to hear this record.
In spite of my personal connection, I really encourage you all to check it out. One Flew South is a new entity, but it's already got one hell of a pedigree. Most of the songs were written either by or with Marcus Hummon, the grammy-winning songwriter of Rascal Flatt's "Bless the Broken Road" and The Dixie Chick's "Cowboy Take Me Away," among other big country hits. Two of the tracks on the record were written by my brother Eddie Bush with famed songwriter JD Souther, who wrote many of the Eagles huge early hits and had his own big hit with "You're Only Lonely" in 1980. And I'm telling you (as I did in a previous post), Eddie is HUGE Prince fan.. (And a phenomenal guitarist... listen to some of his solos on the record and you'll hear the P influence). I thank everyone for reading this... and also everyone who posts in the Music: Non-Prince forum, because I've found lots of new music through your recommendations. I really hope this post repays the favor! (Eddie's the one in the middle, if this picture posted...) Peace kevin | |
