After seeing the original performance, Cyndi's watered down version doesn't quite compare. There's just something in the Stairstep's version... pure emotion. Cyndi doesn't quite compare. I like both versions. Cyndi's just stripping it down to bring out the sentiment more. She always does surprising covers in concert and changes them up. Better that than to try and mimic the original. That would be impossible to do.
