Mint Condition Just wondering if anyone had the opportunity to see Mint Condition last night @ Trocaderos?
...and no, I didn't have the opportunity! I'm sure it was great - it was a CD release party! Anyone want to share?

Isn't that an associated artist? http://www.mtv.com/overdr...&vid=34219 [Edited 5/11/08 11:38am]

It doesn't include people like Mint Condition, Patti LaBelle or Chaka Khan. Those artist's careers are independent of Prince even though they may have collaborated with him at times. Your thread may get more of a response in the non prince forum. Mint is discussed there quite frequently. Just trying to help. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

Since there is not a "Collaboration Forum", I thought I would not be breaking any rules. Interesting when one looks up Collaborater and finds "partner, contributer, associate, and when one looks up Associate and finds "join as partner, connect, person united with another in an act, often associate," seems like the same person/persons. (but - still different I get it) I've always thought of Stokely as part of the "NPG ALLSTARS" if you will, and he has joined Estaire Godinez on stage numerous times. I won't make this mistake again, just thought it was ok to put under "Associated artists & people (talk about ex-bandmembers, ex-girlfriends, ETC.) Heard the concert was amazing, no doubt! Even with them being as closely associated to the MLPS scene as they are, for the most part, Prince fans have never considered them associated artists. Why start now? The thread would get more attention in the Non-Prince music thread. Mint's career has had nothing to do with Prince and technically they may be indirectly associated with Prince but musically, Prince has had nothing to do with their career. They are even LESS of an associated artist than Patti or Chaka because they've never done a song with Prince. I've often wondered if he was jealous of them in some ways, but that's another thread.[/color] [/b]

These guys started out on Jimmy & Terry Label and people should stop getting it twisted. And as for Ms Patti, her career was established long before P got in the game with Sara & Nona (The La-belles) & Solo wise. So technically, she could go under the category as a collaborator. Also, I would consider bad sista Chaka a callaborator as well. Because, we all know that she paid her does with Rufus as well during her solo years under the production of Rod Temperton. Redirecting to Music: Non-Prince.... You should get a collaborated artist section then....it is far more fitting where this was....because Stokely Williams was on "Call My Name" Video. This should be under ASSOCIATED ARTISTS, OR COLLABORATORS...etc, etc. etc.people THAT HAVE WORKED with Prince then. All I wanted was to hear about the concert.....which I did from a friend who went. All this other drama as to where this thread is now....well ! I think if anything you should get after people with NO RESPECT FOR OTHERS HERE.....SOME TREAT OTHERS AND SAY THINGS ABOUT OTHERS THAT IS EXTREMELY UNACCEPTABLE.....ABOUT THE TWINS, ETC, ETC, ETC. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Not that I'm aware of. I had that album and the Art & Soul album that Timothy Christian produced. I'm expecting a reasonably entertaining show.

and you should expect an entertaining show. like you said, D'Wayne and Timothy are great, and I think they are great as well, its just that I would just love to see them with Raphael too. The magic is with the 3 of them. I wish Raphael will pull a Dawn Robinson and get back with the D'Wayne and Timothy for a tour at least...if not another album. I know, I know, that's pushing it I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.
