MGMT Electric Feel i might be in the minority, but i'm digging this track! i actually like most of their album. | |

You're not in the minority. i have been into this group for a while now. Their record is damn good. Reminds me of a Bowie for the new school (weekend wars). Love it!
Also check out Apes and Androids http://www.myspace.com/apesandandroids They are a lot like Prince in a electronic way. I was introduced to these two at the same time, so one reminds me of the other Good shit! | |

this album kind of snuck up on me. i kind of felt at first that it was too derivative (it is, kind of) or too stuck on being an homage to artists/styles of the past (and it is, kind of), but then i realized that i was listening to it about twice a day for awhile and really, really enjoying it every time. and looking forward to hearing to it again and again. I was totally going to start a whole MGMT thread today!!!
I adore them.  They are my new favorite band/group right now and I can't get enough of "Electric Feel", "Boogie Down", "Indie Rokkers", "Time to Pretend", "Kids", and "The Youth" (really beautiful)
They make me think of Gary Numan mixed in w/ Prince at times.  I can't get enough of "Time to Pretend". I love how I can relate to the bleak lyrics, yet the music is such spaced-out electronica happiness.

ok, i've been watching that Kids video over and over since you posted it 
and i finally read the info the user posted about it. If you have a band, are in the LA area, and would like to have a music video made on a very reasonable budget, please consider contacting me and we'll try to make something happen.
This is an unofficial video for MGMT. The guy and the girl are not MGMT. However, though I can't say much, you can expect to see the guy and the girl in this video in the OFFICIAL vid for MGMT's "Electric Feel", coming out in a few weeks. Thank you all so much for passing this on to your friends. I was there when the band themselves saw the video this past weekend (and really liked it) and it's only because of your encouragement that it was all possible. Hope you enjoyed, expect more soon and that is the same girl in the Electric Feel Video. | |
