this Rumor has been put out there but nothing has been Confirmed.last I heard Barry White was in need of a Kidney.but until I see it Officially I ain't hearing it.

Soul legend BARRY WHITE's health problems have just got worse - he's reportedly suffered a stroke. The heavyweight crooner, 58, announced last month (SEP02) he was undergoing dialysis after his kidneys failed following years of high blood pressure.

Now British newspaper THE DAILY EXPRESS say the YOU SEE THE TROUBLE WITH ME hitmaker was found lying on the floor of his home in California earlier this week (begs14OCT02), unable to move.

A family friend says, "He had a stroke that left him paralysed on the right side of his body. Doctor told the family Barry had suffered brain damage and his kidneys were only working at three per cent capacity. "Barry's family was hoping for the best, but they knew they should prepare for the worst."

THE walrus of love is in critical condition. Barry White, whose sultry songs are responsible for more than a few unplanned pregnancies, has been in a Los Angeles hospital for over a month with kidney failure, sources say. The situation is "not good," and it is not known if White will recover as no donor has been found. White's illness has pushed back the launch of Def Jam Soul. White was supposed to be the label's top act, along with Patti LaBelle, but he hasn't been available to help promote it. White's manager didn't return calls.

No offense Essence, but since the thread title is inaccurate, could you change it to simply reflect his health condition. Barry's still with us and I'd hate to think his passing is being hastened.

You know,I keep reading conflicting stories about Barry's health.The "official" word is that he's waiting for a kidney transplant.But,I also heard that he is a coma,near death! I don't know what to believe.

Barry White Waits For Kidney Donor

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Deep-voiced soul singer Barry White was resting at home while his search for a kidney donor continued, his manager said.

White, 58, had dialysis treatment in September to stabilize his condition, a complication from years of chronic high blood pressure.

"I see him every day, and he's doing better every day," manager Ned Shankman said Wednesday. "He's a candidate for transplant. We're still looking for a match."

Potential donors include White's own children, Shankman said.

White is known for romantic songs such as "Can't Get Enough of Your Love, Babe" and "You're the First, the Last, My Everything."

He had been working on a new studio album before undergoing treatment.

White was hospitalized in August 1999 for a blood pressure problem.

I don't think he will have a problem with a donor...He has 8 children and they are all canditates.
