'80s star Taylor Dayne arrested Friday on DUI DUI Arrest for Not So Great Dayne
Gina Serpe Fri May 16, 5:49 AM ET Los Angeles (E! Online) - Forget her heart, Taylor Dayne is going to tell it to her judge. The pop star, who broke through to the masses with 1988's particularly dated "Tell It to My Heart," was arrested on a misdemeanor DUI charge in Beverly Hills earlier this year after failing a field sobriety test. Just after 1 a.m. on March 6, the 46-year-old singer, whose real name is Leslie Wunderman, was taken into custody by Beverly Hills' finest and held for seven hours before ultimately being released on $5,000 bail. While it's unclear why she was pulled over and tested in the first place, her attorney adamantly denies any excessive imbibing on his client's behalf. "We intend to vigorously defend this case," lawyer Scott Spindel said. "Her blood alcohol was below the legal limit." Dayne pleaded not guilty to the charge on April 16 and is due back in court on June 2. She's expected to be roundly forgotten again shortly after that.

This chick is sad. I can't stand that nasal yelling she calls singing or her shit music, but I almost want to buy a CD. I mean she turned herself into a duck and froze her face and now she's DUI for a little attention. Poor thing.

oh wait... Someone had to say it! I agree with MADFTR. This shit is taken far too lightly! Then again.... "We intend to vigorously defend this case," lawyer Scott Spindel said. "Her blood alcohol was below the legal limit."
Maybe she didn't have that much to drink, but you gotta know your limits. Sounds like the blood alcohol wasn't terrible but she was impaired. If you are going to drink at all and drive, honestly, you got be responsible and really think about what you're doing. And shit....she can't be that poor that she can't get a taxi! I know nobody bought that new album, but damn!

But as BILLY JOEL said PERCECTLY when on Vh1 at the RNRHOF show, during his speech for John Mellencamp, he said, "Hey john, remember all those crappy videos we had to make to promote networks, guess where they ended up? VH1 behind the music that SUCKS" then he replied, "Hey VH1 Fuck you" on their airtime. Well Said Billy. let me tell you that I cannot stand clumsy drivers on the road, and especially not drunk drivers! And I have no sympathy for this twisted sister drag lookalike of a drunk. [Edited 5/19/08 3:26am]

Especially if you are a female on the thin side. Personaly, I never drink at all if I'm driving. Even if I have one glass of wine, I take the subway or a taxi.

They were never about bashing the artists and I believe most of them centered around a current interview from the artist. That was a good series. When they started in with the negative countdowns and commentary shows with bad comedians (E! was notrious for this and often didn't even do it well since they are so damn cheap they never get access to what they are bashing). "I Love the 80s" and stuff like that was cool but when they get into "100 Most Suckiest" or "Biggest Mistakes" it got lame and often made the stations look worse than the things they were bashing.

I know nobody bought that new album, but damn! If her alcohol level was below the legal limit... and no reports of accidents, running red lights etc... then it really becomes a judgment call, not objective. charging someone with DUI is a serious offense.... you better have TANGIBLE, REPRODUCABLE evidence to accuse someone of that. Police officers are human and make mistakes... they are employees working in the capacity of enforcing the law. just because they are employed "by the people" doesn't mean they are infallible. just my opinion. No im talking about and Billy was talking about "Behind the Music, that sucks", specials which were the parodies that vh1 ran, using videos from the 80's, and Ok yeah fashions were different and maybe cheesy, but at least they all did the most with what they had as far as the technology. This generation HAS ALL THE TECHNOLOGY and is the dumbest lamest one yet. And lets face it, if it wasnt for the "chessy ass videos and fashions" this generation would have nothing to rip off, and the people that work at vh1 and Mtv and BET would be un-employed.
