I always start my weekend with some 70s disco jams!

I'll be glad when they (if they ever) release their 2 LP's on digitally remastered CD. Every one of the songs on their albums were hot. I'm dying to hear "Ask Billie" again. I hate when really good artists have their entire catalog reduced to ONE HIT. They were so much more than that.

Oh yeah! Their albums were awesome! They took you all the way there. Quality productions. These compilation CD's aren't doing any of these artists any justice. One or two hits, the "radio edit", and none of their great b-sides.

Good to know this is on their Black & White album which will turn up sooner than an original 12" single.

i have that full-length 7:03 version of "Livin It Up (Friday Night)" on a disco compilation CD called 'D.J. Pix Disco Nights Volume 7'.This CD is filled with rare,hard to find stuff like "It Must Be Love" by Alton McClain and Destiny..."Heaven Knows" (12" version) by Donna Summer....and the "Breakin" theme song by Ollie and Jerry.

Yeah, the second album didn't have a hit on it like Friday Night was on their debut. The second album is cool but u know how follow ups usually pan out for folks.

I love that long version. When it breaks down in the middle, then I like to start fading in Prince's "I Wanna Be Your Lover". It works perfectly.

I have that CD too. It also includes an updated remixed version of "Dancing Machine" by The Jackson 5.

I don't have all the volumes but I have several and they are all great. Volume 11 is euro disco and it has some rare stuff like "Theme From The Midnight Express" by Geogio Moroder and the theme from "Star Wars". There's also a euro disco song on there from a group that features Luther Vandross before he became famous. Luther used to be able to jam before he got all damn mellow.

What was the first single on the second album? I don't recall hearing this album.

I don't believe a single was released from the second album. And yet, I'm so glad I scooped it up when it came out. I used to listen to both albums back to back, from beginning to end.

There was just so much really good music in the 70's that never made it on the radio, as "a single", or made the transition over to CD's. It's a shame. One of the reasons I stopped listening to the radio decades ago. Radio is no judge of good music (IMHO).

Can't blame the kids today for thinking "Super Freak" was the only song Rick James put out, or that "Word Up" was the only song Cameo did.
