I have everything from 1971-80, and this is how I cover the great Wonder in the 60s:

And I’m absolutely positive that I’m still missing some 60’s greatness, which is why I’m always snooping around here for impassioned voices.

Wow, why does the music sound so large on those old 60s tunes? I like the depth you hear and the clarity of the vocalists.

in short: real acoustics and large ensembles playing loud in one space, no digital precision production. Vocals will have a different general character to the backing music, and will stand out (whereas in modern music they have to fight for the same frequency area as synths, hihats, cymbals and the top frequencies of electric guitars)

I honestly had no idea that the song was a remake- wow!

I like MJ's better. But Stevie's is gorgeous- he just doesn't sound very confident in it.
