Sad news.

As the piece says, Arnold was managed by a pre-Elvis Colonel Tom Parker in the early '50s, and Arnold never had a bad word to say about the man (Parker), even when IIRC Parker left Arnold slightly in the lurch when the Elvis contract came up in late '55 and Presley became the Colonel's sole client.

And yes, "Make the World Go Away" was a monster hit for Arnold and was much covered by later artists, including Elvis IIRC, even if the original does sound wonderfully OTT nowadays smile.
