i don't see it as a british invasion. i just see a slight handful of british singers who are in various stages of crossover in the states. generally speaking, i think the US top 40 is still in a xenophobic k-hole.

Duffy Adele Amy Winehouse Joss Stone Estelle Leona Lewis http://thedailyvoice.com/...000485.php [Edited 5/8/08 7:33am] I still haven't heard Duffy and Adele and I've only heard one song of Leona's "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

I think we're seeing a invasion of Electro "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Of all the names mentioned, I think only Amy Winehouse is credible, solely based on her music. Most of the others mentioned are merely watered down, other-angled projections of her.
Also, can someone lock up Joss Stone and let her come out when she is somewhat more credible, thank you. I saw her live and her personality was as flat as a cardboard. And sure, she is young, but dayum.

I just don't get why artists/ bands have to be lumped into categories like this anyway..
"New"...? Amy is on her second album, Joss Stone is on her third, fourth..? Estelle's been around for a while and one hit in the US does not an invasion make... This is not an exit

I think this should read....
"What do you think of the few British acts that have managed to squeeze through the dull inward corporate controlled charts and channels of the USA?" .
