Classic album.
The rawness of this period also hints at the future genius about to be unleashed. And believe it or not, that raw streak is still there. Hopefully he'll break it out again at some point in the future. When I quickly read the thread title, I thought it was Keep On Running by Stevie Winwood. (a cool track from his Gimmie Some Lovin' era) tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. Yeah I love RAW and UNADULTERATED Stevie.
I especially loved the way he was talking in "Sweet Little Girl". If you listen closely at the end, Stevie said, "now don't make me MAD and act like a N***A!"

I sure hope he has that rawness, I mean hes got it in concert certainly, but i wonder if hes embarrassed to do it on record nowadays..?? At this point in history, we have a choice to make

Here's another gem from MOMM:
This track is funny because of Stevie's speaking voice. It's essentially a blues record especially with Stevie's harmonica. But at the ending, you'll see what I mean.

I love Music of My Mind. I'd have to say it's my least favorite of the Big 4, but only because the other three are so fantastic. Still, it's hard to find any flaws with this album. "Happier Than the Morning Sun" is probably my favorite, but "Love Having You Around" and "Superwoman/Where Were You When I Needed You" are up there. "Girl Blue" and "Seems So Long" are severely underrated. Great album -- nothing even close to a bad song. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis
