Eminem, when he was at the top of his career once had a public fuede with Moby.




Aside from the fact that I used to be Moby fan (up to his release of 'Play' and overexposure), I thought that Moby made a great point: Eminem's lyrics, though 'joking', were misogynist and sexist.

For those of you who know nothing about the fuede, Moby, the electronic musician/DJ, who enjoyed a brief stint at the top of the charts, once publicly referred to Eminem's lyrics as hateful, homophobic, and misogynist, and lambasted the music industry for promoting 'hate speach' on the radio. Emimen responded by referencing him in song, mocking him in a music video, and publically lambasting him on stage.

The problem I have with all this is that Moby was nothing more than yet another one of Marshal Matther's 'spoft targerts', like Christina Aguelara (who actually responded with a humerous rap back at him), Britney Spears, and Kris Kilpatrick.
I've seen desperate in my life, by Eminem took this to a whole new level of desperate. I mean, at least Biggie Small's fat, dumpy, out-of-shape, ass picked a fuede with Tupac. It didn't matter that Tupic could have mopped the floors with Biggies's juicy pumpkin head, Biggie stood his ground and said his shit.

Eminem on the other hand went straight for the former members of the Mickey Mouse club and a Vegan pacifist to 'gain' his street cred, which from what I've seen from African Amercan posters on this site over the years, he hasn't REALLY gained at all.

Now, I'm not saying I condone this 'diss' act that they often do to prove their bravado, nor am I saying that these fuedes are anymore than stupid marketing tactics (I'd bet the farm on it for Eminem though); but, I do think that if he wanted to 'play the game' he really really took the easy route--not terribly brave for a guy that so willingly mocked Moby.
