I think this cat is talented. I bought his ep and his ability at vocals plus the arrangements and instrumentation had alot of nuance and design to them while still keeping it soulful. Black and Gold is so aurally visual. Thanks for mentioning the lp is out. I was waiting for it cool

I noticed when you posted that youtube link that someone came out and commented someone as a pretender of the throne to prince. These stalker fans are too much.
I will bet you that it originated from here. Seriously, people on here are so obsessed if someone sounds like Prince. Were you obsessed if Prince sounded like Sly or Chaka or James? Give it a rest seriously

Oh yeah, he's definitely got an old school Prince vibe going on. A lot of folks here may sneeze at that, but I think it's adorable. A lot of artists that are inspired by Prince (Beck, D'Angelo, Outakst, Basement Jaxx, etc.) are pretty good at paying homage to our purple hero. It also proves how influential Prince has become. Hell, even some of my music sounds a bit purple. But I can't help that I'm inspired by my main man. wink

But this Sparro guy has a good voice and cool sound. Aside from the Prince influence, his vocals strangely remind me of Jermaine Jackson. I don't know if that's good or bad. lol
