Mariah Carey's "Petals" - A MASTERPIECE.

The lyrics are so beautiful...

And please do laugh about this video. It's well done.

love it!!!

I love this kinda stuff from MiMi
namely these two:
"Sunflowers For Alfred Roy"
"Twister"

matter of fact I just named
"Twister" her best song

back to "Petals"
didn't appreciate it til
like last year or the year before

simply beautiful
"be who you are and say what you feel
because those who mind don't matter
and those who matter don't mind."

Very pretty song. And delicate. It's sorta Prince-y to me in parts.

That stuff with her sister is sooooo tragic. Mariah's really been through a lot and still came out on top. Vanishing is still my fave. . .

I lover her version of The Beautiful Ones and always wondered how others felt about it. It's one of my favorite covers by her, hands down. It almost makes me misty.

And?

I became a fan during the Rave era...

At least I don't pretend to be a poser number 1 fam since birth like 50% of the Prince section posters.

I figured it was something like that but thought maybe you would have heard it in passing or something. What did you think when you finally heard Prince's version?

I really liked the Rave album, btw. boxed

It's all good. I'm certainly not that's why I don't bother in the Prince section.

Not really it was a HUGE hit and it's one of my faves. The way she changed her singing style to match Bone Thugs rap style was cool.
