Will.i.am on MJ's New Songs Taken from a recent bbc interview - he initially talks about filming the new Wolverine movie then goes onto MJ. What's the last comment about? Did he fall out with MJ?
Have you enjoyed the filming? It just doesn't seem real for some reason. Maybe it's because I'm sleepy. Even working with Michael Jackson seemed real, even though it was, you know, surreal, but the Wolverine thing seems like a big dream. When will we get to hear the songs you recorded with Michael? The new stuff? Um, I don't know... Can you switch that tape recorder off... Heartbreaker is released on 5 May. Will.i.am was speaking to BBC News entertainment reporter Mark Savage. original link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/h...373205.stm

I feel his pain. | |

he sounds pissed off of the whole thing as well. he relases his stuff quick (though I dislike his songs) and it must be horrible for him to see that his songs may never be released...

he pretty much has to shut his mouth for mj because he doenst want any details leaked , but still he chooses mj over justin timberlake so he still has love for mike

I think it's because they CAN'T say anything about the new material. He has them under contract not to "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

what if they really suck and he's embarrassed? He's not all that in the first place. MJ is better with ne yo and akon.

I think his sounds doesn't fit with MJ.
Will.I.Am's drum sound and the loose feeling of his stuff don't fit MJ. He always uses tight drums etc. but I don't want to talk about what I think would be right for MJ. he takes his own decisions. I just disagree with them.

You all act like MJ is his puppet! I'm sure MJ's capable to change the aspects of Will's production he doesn't like! It's a collaboration!

Since it's obviously gonna take Michael years to release a new album, why doesn't he release a live acoustic set in the meantime? To tide fans over until the new music is finished and ready to go? He could do an MTV Unplugged set.It wouldn't take alot of effort on his part.

if he does an acoustic set, it shouldn't be of the mainstream classics, except for 3 or 4 at the most. I want to see songs like Stranger in Moscow, Give In To Me, Who Is It, Keep the Faith, Morphine etc. get the acoustic treatment, it'll be interesting hearing a less overproduced version.

Also, fan favorites like "I Can't Help It","Maybe Tomorrow","Butterflies","Whatever Happens","Lady In My Life",etc would be a nice addition. These are excellent, melodic songs that would work very well in a stripped-down acoustic setting.

No way. Don´t touch these songs whatsoever. They sound beautifully because of the background as well. I can´t imagine taking out of Lady In My life its beautiful dramatic background. No, I don´t like these accoustic things. As far as I am concerned, do whatever you want Mike (not that I wanna hear over-computerized sound, I just want something really good whatever style it is). "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

An acoustic set would be a refreshing change of pace for him.The music on his recent albums (particularly the uptempo tracks) is usually over-produced and mechanical-sounding.It would be nice to hear him in a stripped-down setting, with an emphasis on melody and a focus on his voice. Many people forgot that he's an incredible vocalist.During this acoustic set,he could bring out a few special guests: Stevie Wonder during "I Can't Help It" and Carlos Santana during "Whatever Happens". He really needs to get away from these hip-hop producers. That's not his style.Michael is not "hard" enough to do that style of music. . [Edited 5/5/08 4:54am]

you act like the songs will ever appear They're acting like "the songs" even exist. This thread title is misleading. will.i.am said nothing about "the songs". He has never said that any songs exist. MJ fans are too dumb to notice this though. will.i.am is obviously let down because he realizes Michael was never serious about doing new material. Probably what he would've said when the tape recorder was switched off was..... "That nigger led me up the garden path! Bitch should've said he just wanted a remix! Now I done told everyone I'm producing a new MJ album that don't even exist! If I ever see that motherfucker again I'm gonna whip the black back into his bleached ass!".... Or something along those lines anyway. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

Because he doesn't have the stamina to sing live for more than a few minutes at a time. Have you seen the History Tour? He didn't mime it for artistic reasons you know. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

Speaking of an acoustic show or whatever, don't you think Leave Me Alone would sound awesome acoustic? I was just thinking that earlier while listening to it. He should definitely do Leave Me Alone if he ever does an acoustic show.

MJ fans are too dumb to notice this though. Will.i.am has talked about the songs him and Mike have worked on : Jackson has enlisted Black Eyed Peas member will.i.am for a backup on one of his tracks for the album. They appeared together in an Access Hollywood interview conducted in October of 2006.[15] At that time, they had not yet completed any music, but were still experimenting with different sounds and styles. However, a Rolling Stone magazine article published in February of 2007 stated that the pair had drafted eight new songs and physically tracked one, titled "I'm Dreamin'". will.i.am told Billboard magazine that he is involved in more than just the musical aspect of Jackson's new album. He is also discussing with the artist how new technologies might be utilized to his advantage (as suggested by Access Hollywood's Billy Bush), particularly social networking websites and downloading outlets.[13] In an August 2007 interview with Times Online, will.i.am was quoted as saying, "[Jackson's] voice is still incredible. It’s not about crazy beats that are going be here today and gone tomorrow, but melodies that will stay for a lifetime."[16] On the 13th of August 2007, will.i.am told reporters at a Black Eyed Peas press conference in South Korea that another track he recorded with Jackson is titled "The Future".[17] On the 23rd of August 2007, will.i.am revealed on the Los Angeles radio station KIIS-FM that he's only recorded two songs with Jackson, both of a "feel good" nature - unrelated to the singer's life. He also stated they're to work on two further tracks in November.[18] September 13th 2007: will.i.am mentions in a Swedish interview, that he and Michael have recorded three songs together, and personally appears as a duet/featuring artist on one. He also expressed hope for the first single to be released in 2008. On the 2nd May 2008 Will I Am had an interview with BBC reporter Mark Savage and was asked 'When will we get to hear the songs you recorded with Michael?' With Will I Am responding 'The new stuff? Um, I don't know... Can you switch that tape recorder off... '

Exactly. Since MJ fans have nothing to get excited about nowadays, they have to invent their own excitement by totally twisting what's in front of them. will.i.am ain't saying shit here. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

Hold up a minute - Im not twisting anything and I havent said Im an MJ fan - just passing on some info that no one else had. Will.i.am is responding to a question about the songs he did with MJ - he's asked 'When will we get to hear the songs you recorded with Michael?' and he responds accordingly about those songs.

So this means so far they did "I'm Dreaming", "The Future" and another one... but on the E! interview you could hear a background music which was later used on one of Will.I.Am's tracks!!

Yeah I remember some fans buzzing that the background music would be used for Michael's. APPARENTLY he didn't like it.
