Artists You Love That You're Burned Out Of.... I love George Michael's music. I remember back in like early 2004, I really got crazy into him. I bought almost all his albums on Amazon (for dirt cheap) and even peeped his Unplugged concert on eBay.
My jams were: Freedom 90 Faith Monkey I'm Your Man Star People FastLove I Can't Make You Love Me I Want Your Sex Waiting Waiting (Reprise) Amazing Flawless I could go on and on with all the GM tracks I loved. Then in about 2007, I realized I was burned out of him. I couldn't stand to hear the man's music. I still think he is awesome and a musical genius, but his music makes me almost cringe. It isn't that they aren't good songs, cus I think they are AMAZING. It is just, I can't bare to listen to them anymore. I've even tried recently and still it is like, "Yuck." So until George releases all new material, I'm done with him. I recently picked up a copy of the US pressing of "25" and flipped it over. I read the track listing and went, "nope.' Enough time hasn't passed for me to like those songs again yet. Anyone have any favorite artists you are burned out with all together? [Edited 4/28/08 20:23pm] MJ Fan 1992-Forever

I'm like that with MJ. Still love him but don't want to be obsessed, I kind of got like this sometime between BOTDF and Invincible, but now it's more. I got too attached this time and want to back off. Until he's back, to me he's over and I just want to move on though he left behind a great catalogue
I've sworn off voluntarily listening to his music for at least a year, will only listen if I catch it on tv or the radio or at a club. [Edited 4/28/08 20:47pm]

I still, on rare occasions, listen to him but for the most part I've moved on to other artists. It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

I don't really overdo it on any of my favorites, cause I keep things pretty varied
but I am burned out on Van Hunt after listening to his stuff virtually non-stop after meeting him in October I'll probably get over that though, by the time I go see him perform on May 1st If you will, so will I

I'm not a hater, I'm just not uptight, in case my posts on this board are misleading, just so you know. I was too emotionally attached before that it was disrupting me, and that's no way to live.

It has been awhile since I played or heard it. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

You should investigate their live recordings and the robert plant live shows. I can see why he doesn't want to go back. His stuff with the Strange Sensation band is superb, different shows every night. Check them out.

I can't think of any to be honest. I still enjoy listening to all the artists that I love.

I'm not burned out on any artist specifically but there are moments where I just don't listen to certain artists. Like a Luther Vandross song came on my iPod last week and I hadn't listened to any of his stuff in about a year, so it triggered something in me and for most of last week, I was listening to his Best of Love CD over and over and I was loving it. That kind of thing happens to me. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

JanFan Nah, I wouldn't go that far and say that my fandom was for "a while" or even say for life. However, my appreciation is certainly by no means as overarching as it used to be, nor was it as limited/blinkered as you and other people on the internet thought it was.

I never thought your taste was limited to Janet. It's just a play on the name, the title of a Janet song and the topic at hand.
