Why can't Madonna and Prince do a tour together because they simply want to do one together? It shouldn't be a Madonna vs. Prince kind of thing, unless it's meant for the show itself. They both don't need each other to make their careers better. They are both in the place that they want to be in careerwise and they are both very successful. Madonna was asked which male superstar she'd want to tour with if she had the choice. The fact that she chose Prince shows that she totally respects and admires the man and his skills on the stage & I respect her more because of that. Besides, she's like the majority of us on this site, a Prince fan. So if it ever materializes, then that would be great for us on this site and Madonna fans too.

I say.. as we've seen on this site, Prince fans and Madonna fans often go hand in hand.

kinda related:

AP: You, Prince and Michael Jackson turn 50 this year. Will you be throwing a big, joint party?

Madonna: If there is, I am not throwing it. I am tired of throwing parties!

AP: Maybe you all could do a Rolling Stone cover together.

Madonna: Really? (smiles) I don't know. Ask them. I am a little bit tired of being the one who always has to ask everything. You are going to have to go to them.

I saw that and thought it was such a hot idea. drool The Purple One and M-Dolla. Tickets would start at like $300. I'd sleep in the street for tix to that show.

i saw that interview too and thought it would be a brilliant idea but it would never happen. those too bitches are way too egotistical to tour together. they would be fighting over who goes on stage last and make up! it would be insane if they hooked up though. now what if they added MJ to that tour?? aw shit.....

Id die to see it, but im not so sure it would work. Both have very different ideas about live performing. I think Madonna knows better how to put on a big, polished, entertaining spectacle, whereas Prince loves to entertain through showmanship and musicianship. There's definite overlap - and I think both would benefit from the others influence. Prince from Madonna in putting a cohesive "show" together, and Madonna from Prince's Musicianship. However I think Prince would get bored with having to do the same show night in night out, and Madonna would freak out if it was too spontaneous so thats where I cant see it working.

Id love to see how they became involved in each others songs though - it'd be fascinating. Oh and Wendy does need to be there.

Ahh,but you're forgetting one thing: Prince is a control freak lol He could never do a tour with a powerful, successful woman that he can't control. If he ever does a co-headlining tour with a female artist,it would have to be someone who's not nearly as successful as Madonna.

I thought it was pretty much understood that it's just a fantasy. A 'what if' scenario.

I never say never but uh, this ain't gonna happen. But of course, if it ever did, I'd definitely want to be there in the front row with bells on.

But then...
maybe when they're in their 60s, in Vegas, one night only... [insert fantasy sequence]

I always thought from the 90s on they had a problem with each other. I remember watching the VMA's a couple of years ago and when Madonna came out, the whole crowd minus Prince (who looked pissed off) stood up and gave her a standing ovation. I guess they made up by then.

She told him she thought Graffati Bridge was a bad idea and they didn't speak for awhile, and than in 99 he begged her to go to WB for him to get his Masters, which she didn't do. that was year he was the VMA's to introduce TLC and Madonna had the drag queens introduce her and she presented with McCartney. Prince didn't acknowledge her at that, but they have since been seen be chumy at different fashion shows.

Yup, your right. It was definitely the 99 VMA's. He had braids and was in like a blue catsuit lol.

I wonder why he she refused to help him...????

Good comments all; ...about them.

As for me personally, even if it could happen, I don't think it would go down well. Two hours of each of these top tier acts would be just too much for me.

Like trying to chug a bottle of Jack or eating two 32oz fillet mignons at one sitting, there's a point past which it ceases to be satisfying and starts to go downhill.

Now maybe a TV special where they mix it up and do a few from M and a few from P alternating back and forth intercut with interview footage with the stars and perhaps other band members, retrospective snippets from past tours and a duet or two. I could handle that.

But for me 4 hours live Madonna and Prince would be overkill not to mention that for them they'd each have to do it for half the usual pay cuz there's only so many seats in a stadium.

Does anyone really think they could fill at stadium on $300-$500 tickets?
