Kanye West APOLOGISES for outburst.

See y'all?

Don't believe the hype! When I started the show the other night we were having a lot of technical issues due 2 the heat. The 2 huge screens on both sides of the stage were glaring bright blue like when your DVD player acts up at home. I asked for them 2 turn the screens off 3 times because it was distracting 2 the show. The fans were not getting what they paid for. I admit, in my frustration, I did use profanity on the 4th time I asked. I stopped the show 2 go over and check it out myself. After the screens were turned off I started the same song from the beginning. The screens were eventually fixed 5 songs in but it was definitely better 2 have them blacked out rather than bright blue.

Unfortunately for certain media outlets, you will never be able 2 'Michael Jackson' me. That means 2 make it seem like everything I do is so weird or out of place... they always try 2 make it seem like everything is about my ego! That joke is getting old.

At a certain point you have 2 respect that I'm one of the last artist that still cares about the fans having the best time of their lives!

Thanks 2 Bossip and Perez for taking it easy on me on the EW spaz... I did go in a little 2 much on that one. I'm sure there are some cool people who work over there and had nothing 2 do with that review. With all that said.... "I'm still the greatest!!!" lol!! Oh and I was in the studio with T.I. last night.... so get ready!!!

The first bit is in reference to reports he had a "hissy fit" on stage regarding technical problems a few nights ago at a Houston show.

what about all the other ones?
"Try to remember how you used to feel about me
and think about how you're treating me now.
Then try to reconcile them, if you can.
But you don't even remember, do you?"

if he's apologizing for being an ass this time, he might as well throw all the other times in there too. shrug

I don't think there's been a day go by that he hasn't been an ass. shrug

I wouldn't call that an apology, and I don't think he has anything to apologize for.

If this was Madonna or Justin it wouldn't even be news.

I not a huge Kanye fan but I can appreciate the fact that he wants to give a good show and it sounds like some of the technical crew got fired. I wish all performers took his stance on giving a good show. I've been to big name shows where similar things have happened and the performer was so detached from the audience that they just didn't care that you paid 60 plus dollars to see them and because of something technical your night was ruined (cough V**** Rope Tour Cough).

It's funny how giving your honest opinion = being an "ass" these days. shrug

It's "how" you give your opinion that makes you an "ass."

Ummmmm. . . the only thing missing from that apology is an actual apology. This is what he INITIALLY said in response to an Entertainment Weekly reporter giving him a B+ on the concert.

Kanye's response from his blog:

“Yo, anybody that's not a fan; don't come to my show. For what?! To try to throw yall to cents in? Yall rated my album shitty and now yall come to the show and give it a B+. What's a B+ mean? I'm an extremist. It's either pass or fail! A+ or F-! You know what, fuck you and the whole fucking staff!!! I know I shouldn't dignify this with a comment, but the reviewer threw a jab at all the artists. I just wanna know when was the last time you enjoyed yourself. If you can't have fun and loose yourself at this tour it's a good chance you're a very miserable person. I actually feel sorry for you guys. Your job forces you to not have fun anymore. Grab a drink, holla at some nice girls, and party bitch!!! You don't know shit about passion and art. You'll never gain credibility at this rate. You're fucking trash! I make art. You can't rate this. I'm a real person. I'm not a pop star. I don't care about anything but making great art. Never come 2 one of my shows ever again, you're not invited and if you see me... BOW!!! This is not pop, it's pop art! Chris Willman, kill yourself!”

Of course Kanye's bitch ass went back and cleaned up the comments later removing the kill yourself part and correcting various spelling mistakes. giggle

Here's the original review from Chris Willman, who actually gave a pretty positive review but the above response was Kanye's way of dealing with it.

When 2001: A Space Odyssey came out, it was famously advertised as ''the ultimate trip.'' For his headlining chunk of the Glow in the Dark Tour, Kanye West also takes fans on a galactic voyage, folding his hits into a wacked-out space opera that's the ultimate ego trip. Normally, that'd be an insult, but with West, who's made an art form out of dramatizing both humility and hubris, it's mission accomplished.

On opening night in Seattle, West began by standing in front of a giant LED screen full of star fields. Soon, marooned on what the screen depicted as a desert planet, he reviewed his weaknesses back on earth: his pride (in the form of the fiercely self-mocking ''Can't Tell Me Nothing''), harpies (his cautionary ''Gold Digger''), and the popular materialism/sex combo platter (''Good Life''). These produced in him a spiritual malaise that even a rendition of ''Jesus Walks'' couldn't lift. So his only companion, the disembodied voice of his talking spaceship, Jane, tried some brownnosing: ''We need the brightest star in the universe — you, Kanye! Only you can bring us home. You can glow in the dark!'' Cue the rousingly Nietzschean ''Stronger.'' In space, no one can hear you scream, but if you're West, everyone will hear you self-actualize.

Okay, so he's a nut. Still, West's commitment to communicating inner passions and identity crises is so consuming it nearly redeems any conceptual hokeyness. Eschewing hip-hop's buddy system, West is his stage's sole visible human, and he's become a riveting soliloquist. Crouching on one knee, broken up, during ''Hey Mama'' — or pacing like a prizefighter during every other number — he gets you caught up in his journey to the center of the id and pulls off something rare: an intimate spectacle.

West may not allow other folks on stage during his set, but he's generously assembled the most potent opening lineup in recent touring history, even if they don't all maximize their potential. Lupe Fiasco has the material to make good on his ''next Kanye'' status, though he suffered from rapping to studio tracks (and ''Kick, Push'' deserves more than a reduced medley slot). By contrast, N.E.R.D. rocked out with their full-band set; Pharrell Williams is no great singer, but he's a great party starter. The glam Rihanna provided respite from all this testosterone and packed an undeniable string of hits into her half hour, moving smoothly through light choreography. But her should-be slam dunk, ''Umbrella,'' felt off, with the rain-gear-wielding backup dancers working harder to sell the smash than she did. Maybe what Ri-Ri needs to ramp up the charisma is a good pep talk from West's chatty spacecraft. B+

Yeah, it's the "media" that are making it about his ego his tantrums and proclamations like "We need the brightest star in the universe — you, Kanye! Only you can bring us home. You can glow in the dark!" don't have a thing to do with. rolleyes lol That boy is a grade A, certifiable fool!

It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.
