"Touch My Body" singer Mariah Carey got secretly hitched to her 27-year-old boyfriend-of-one-month, shocking the chart-topping songbird's family and friends, The Post has learned.

Carey married little-screen actor Nick Cannon at the home Carey just bought in Eleuthera, the Bahamas, a source close to the singer said.

"They have been smitten with each other for days, weeks," the friend said. "And she's always had a crush on him."

It's the second marriage for Carey, who took her first walk down the aisle with record kingpin Tommy Mottola.

Cannon has last been linked with Victoria's Secret model Selita Ebanks, to whom Cannon proposed via the Times Square jumbotron. Five months later, the couple broke up.

Carey, 38, and her boy-toy had tongues wagging when she was seen sporting Cannon on her arm and a shiny ring on her finger at the Tribeca Film Festival.

When asked what he loved about Carey, Cannon reportedly cooed "everything."

"Everyone is happy to see her happy," Carey's friend told The Post. "And it could work out -" some people know each other for five years and get divorced, maybe this is true instant love."

Not everyone is so over-the-moon.

"There was no pre-nup - there wasn't time," said another worried source.
Guests at the wedding included Carey's longtime pal, rapper Da Brat.

Calls to Carey's rep weren't returned.

Carey is certainly floating these days - even before her wedded bliss.

Carey beat Elvis in the amount of No. 1 hits on the Billboard charts recently. Her "Touch My Body" was hit number 18 for her.

In addition, her E=MC2, debuted at No. 1 on the charts.

Her last romance lasted for about three years - and most recently, she publicly confessed she was fine with not having children.

Cannon started out acting on Nickelodeon's "All That," picked up some bit parts in movies, and then returned to television. He also had a cameo in 50 Cent's video "Disco Inferno."

This is the second time down the aisle for Mariah.
Mariah Carey and rapper Nick Cannon have tied the knot in a "very impulsive" ceremony in the Bahamas, it was reported Thursday.

The Long Island songstress said "I do" in front of a handful of friends, including longtime pal and rapper Da Brat, Latina magazine reported.

It was only days after she was seen at a Tribeca Film Festival after-party with Cannon on her arm - and a huge jewel-encrusted diamond ring on her finger. Sources close to Carey confirmed then that the pair were engaged, the TV show "Access Hollywood" said.

The couple met in March, when Cannon directed the video for Carey's new single, "Bye Bye," and started a romance that a source told Us Weekly was "hot and heavy." A month later, they were seen sharing a romantic night out in Las Vegas.

Carey, 38, left New York's Tenjune nightclub on Saturday with Cannon, 27, and the massive diamond - which bears a striking resemblance to one Cannon gave then-fiancée and Victoria's Secret model Selita Ebanks last year.

They'd been partying at an after-party for the Tribeca Film Festival's screening of "Tennessee," in which she stars. The ring has a huge, rectangular-cut clear diamond, surrounded by smaller jewels on an encrusted band.

Ebanks told Us Weekly, "I have no comment but wish them well." Cannon told MTV News this week, "[Carey is] probably the most festive, remarkable person I've ever met."

It's the second marriage for Carey, who divorced record executive Tommy Mottola in 1998 after five years.

Cannon ditched Ebanks last year.

Reps for the couple could not be reached Thursday.

To tell the truth, this is prolly like Eddie and Tracey's "marriage" which wasn't legal so they don't need a prenup. I mean when you get married abroad there are certain things you have to regarding legalities that they prolly didn't have time to handle if they were in the US this weekend and in the Bahamas on Tuesday to get married on Wednesday. That's why she'd do it without a prenup. I know she crazy, but she ain't THAT crazy. . . . Is she????

And there's more. Apparently Mariah's new video for the song Bye Bye was set to debut this week on MTV and BET. The video stars Nick Cannon and was shot (in part) in the Bahamas. But now MediaTakeOut.com is hearing that Nick (who also directed the video) is re-editing the video with some "last minute additions." Could it be footage from the couple's "wedding." We'll see soon enough - the video is set to premiere next week.

Forget the rumoured engagement between Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon. The latest buzz is that the two singers got married in a small, quiet island ceremony on May 1st.


Carey, 38, and Cannon, 27, met when he directed the video to Carey's song, 'Bye, Bye' in March. They've been seen together ever since. Carey even sported a diamond on her left hand when she attended the Tribeca film festival for her movie, 'Tennessee.'


Latina Magazine states that the wedding took place in the Bahamas and was attended by Da Brat. Carey was previously married to music mogul Tommy Mottola. They divorced in 1998.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon's whirlwind romance took an official turn when the singer obtained a marriage license on the Caribbean island of Eleuthera, a source confirms to PEOPLE.

According to marriage requirements for the Bahamas, a couple must be in the country for at least 48 hours, be over the age of 16 and have obtained a valid marriage license within 90 days, explains Monique Gomez, a Bahamian attorney in Nassau who specializes in family law.

The source says that Carey did obtain a license in Eleuthera within that time period. And clarifies Gomez, "The minister would make sure [the license] goes into the registry. It's still a valid marriage even if it's not filed. Anywhere in the world."

The New York Post reported that the nuptials took place at Carey's private estate off Eleuthera. Carey owns an estate on Windermere Island, which is an exclusive Bahamian island where the British royals vacation.

Though there has been no official confirmation of the wedding, Linda Cannon revealed, "He called and told us all about it."

After dating less than two months, Carey, 39, and Cannon, 27, got hitched in an impromptu island ceremony. This wasn't the first whirlwind courtship for Cannon, who proposed to Victoria's Secret model Selita Ebanks last year after just four months of dating. (The pair split last October.)

A source close to Ebanks - who received a 12-carat diamond ring from Jacob & Co jewelers, similar to the 17-carat Jacob bauble Carey is sporting - says the model "really is not affected by it. She is past that point in her life." Ebanks's rep says Ebanks "has no comment other than she wishes them well."

It appears the guessing game has finally been put to rest, as Access Hollywood has confirmed Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are married.

"Mariah Carey got married on Wednesday at Windermere Island," a Bahamian tourism official told Access Hollywood.

Windermere Island is a seven-mile long island in the Bahamas, just off the mainland of Eluethera.

It is home to the Windermere Island Club, where England's royal family has used as a vacation spot.

Earlier this week, a source close to the music diva confirmed to Access the couple was indeed engaged.

This marks the second marriage for Mariah, 38, who was previously married to music exec Tommy Mottola.

It is the first marriage for 27-year-old Nick.

When contacted by Access Hollywood, reps for both singers were unavailable for comment.
