Yeah, Maxine looks like she's had it kinda rough; like she's been living in Compton for the last 6 or 7 years - ON the street itself eek lol.

But the real question is, are they gonna be relevant now?

Homegirl is from Oakland, she KNOWS how to look rough lol

The venue in Tobago is relatively new. I have to check it out when I'm there this summer. It must take up half of the island. lol

Well HELLO, by today's pop standards they're all as old as Methuselum confused. En Vogue, though bringing a new era of glamour to modern girl groups , were infamous for also being part of an older music business model where they didn't make a lot of money for themselves and had little negotiatiing power at the business table. When they folded it was a different time, it's not as if they were able to keep up a red carpet beauty regiment via expense account. Cindy did the old skool thing of "marrying change", but I don't imagine everyone in the group had access to spas treatment and ELLE-level hair & make-up artists in the past decade... shrug

...Max does have the crow's feet-laugh-line thing happening, 'tis true. But honestly, where I was chiming in was the comment about Dawn; her hair is shorn so short and is in a pixie/gamine style that we can't even see closely (you KNOW how we check folks' roots and kitchens here). From what I see in that pic, I dont understand how or why her short hair looks the equivilent of uncombed and needing to stop at a wig store (MUTHAFUNKA & GRAYCAP wink ).I'm hardly predjudiced against weaves or wigs, but I also think a lot of women of color look beautiful rocking short cuts just as well. UUUUrybody ain't got to be weavalicious in the '08, and I would venture that Dawn needs some blotting powder in that photo before she would need a wig... lol

With the plethora of young non singing pop tart out there, I don't think so. My girls should've buried the damn hatchet when they were in their prime. The current industry trend is not on girl groups now sad to say.

They have enough hits to tour the r&b summer festival circuit annually, and that that still amounts to checks.

They'll probably just have to take the old nostalgia route and focus on the demographic that orininally supported them, which isn't so bad as that demo has now aged just as they have. I can see EnVougue not unlike alot of the folks who were young hot stuff in our day, and people in our age group and beyond are now buying their music in boutique coffee houses. It's all just marketing in the end. I'm still trying to find a working link from the entertainment reporter that reviewed their show though, and mentioned that even though their voices jelled onstage, the ladies did mention that for the time being they just wanted to see how thing would jell afterwards before they committed to anything long-term.... pc

Yep. Female groups are known to have catty-issues - Man Issues & Jealousy are par for the course. Only when they need cash do they realize that shit was petty and they then reunite for that coin.

Hold on now, MuthaFunka wink . . . don't just put the breakup phenomenon on female groups. I'd venture to say there are issues in just about EVERY "group" just because of people's jealous natures. Just look at the Beatles, the Temptations, the Jacksons, the Doors, Fleetwood Mac, New Edition, among others, and those are just the ones we know of.

Oh, okay. . . but if you check out the link with the additional pics it kinda looks like Dawn's actually wearing a ponytail, which if she is, makes what's going on at the top of her head even WORSE. confused I could be wrong tho.

Maybe Dawn has twisties or something. It’s hard to see what type of style it is from the photo.

FYI: Women who take care of themselves don’t fall apart after having kids. Their bodies are built for it. However, Max and Dawn look like they could lay off the white flour for a bit.

I gotta agree with you some what. I'm a female and I'll say staight up Dawn AND Maxine look like they just left the hood laundry mat on a Saturday morning.
Now as for the short hair on Dawn it's not that it's short it, just looks like she woke up and slapped some gel in that shit and rolled out. Um, not a look look for her.

You're right, it's not the length of her hair because the pic in the initial post shows Dawn with short hair (and Max lookin' a hot mess, as usual) and it looks HOT! Then again, that pic's 3 years old.

But that's exactly what EV is doing now, moving on and trynta function as a group. All I'm sayin' is that it happens to most groups male, female, and everything in between, just because of the dynamics. I mean, do you REALLY think Tito and Jackie got over Michael dumpin' they asses??? lol

I really don't see what's wrong with Dawn's hair. It looks like she is wearing a short mini 'fro and if so, it looks nice on her. shrug

Now Maxine is another story. I am not a fan of micro-braids or blonde hair.
She's been rocking those micro braids since the Holdin On video.

Maxine looked her best in the Don't Let Go video.
