Man. Sos, you can break it on down that's for sure lol . But on the serious tip, Miley is just using the publicity to sound edgy and pimp some Britney buzz. I was surprised when I walked into Sally Beauty supply and found that she is selling her own brand of weeves biting off Dolly Pardon eek .

Miley will be age 18 within 3 years from now. She is already thinking about a post-Disney career after the tween/teen idol stage is over (in fairness, that is no excuse for a 15-year-old to be posing for a photo shoot that would have been great idea for a grown adult woman of course!).

The real problem is the fact that Disney doesn't want Miley to grow up too soon on them while there is still billions of dollars of Hannah Montana products to sell.

You don't understand the feelings of some American parents of those die-hard Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus fans.

A 15-year-old teenage girl is suppose to look like an innocent teenage girl with a positive image, not a sexy strip-down vixen. Anything less and those parents will not be spending their money on anymore Hannah Montana products from their children/teens anymore. And thinks is exactly what Disney is afraid of.

Its nothing more than the TMZ generation bullshit, everything is a YOUTUBE scandal, blah blah blah. All i can say is all this shit was going on with EVERY young star back in the day, shit Greg Brady was 15 and dating his mother on the show who was like 35 plus he was smoking weed and dating Marcia and Willie Aames was doing drugs in between Charles in Charge takes, so if You Tube and TMZ and that Fat fucking loser Perez Hilton existed back then, you would be saying GOD im sick of hearing about Greg banging Marcia already!

Oh right. Well, if its just that pic, then personally, I dont see whats the fuss. Sorry. As I said, its not even a sexual pose really.

Its a joke, America has its head so far up its own ass its amazing. Disney has NO problem pimping this 15 year old girl out when ITS making the $$$, selling tshirts, cds, videos, dolls, makeup etcc... but she takes a picture for a magazine that they have no control over and they CRY, same shit that happend with Vanessa Hudgens. I mean come on already, last year they voted HAYDEN PANETTIERE sexiest "WOMAN" in the world, and this was to do nothing more than Promote her as a sexy symbol that was still a minor, but of course no one cared because the double standards of the world exist.

In fairness, Miley Cyrus NEVER went butt naked like Vanessa Hudgens did (despite that Vanessa e-mail the photo for only her male friend to see at the time).

Well Anx, on the serious tip, the one photo Miley took with her Dad laying in close proximity in between his legs does border on being slightly incestous.

They show THAT picture on some of the local news stations, and no one had any complain about THAT specific picture at all. A huge surprise indeed.

So its a cellphone pic?

In that case, people need to get real, most people I knew were fucking before 15, and I lost my virginity at 15 and was considered a late bloomer by a few people LOL.

Anyway, 13 year olds have sex, as do 15 years olds in this case. Not everyone does, but some do.

In ye olden days, the Hollywood studio you were working for woulda covered such a "scandal" up LOL

No, it's not a cell phone pic, I was just using that as an example. And just because there are 15 year olds fucking somewhere doesn't mean that it's something we need to be plastering all over creation. It's funny because Billy Ray was making a bit to-do when some paparazzi cursed while asking her a question saying something like, "She doesn't need to hear words like that," yet seems okay with her taking photos like this. It's interesting to say the least.

This is a behind the scenes look at the photo shoot in question. Everything looks pretty normalized insofar as a shooting goes, nonthing over the top that looks like it was intended to exploit the kid.

But knowing the kind of work Liebowitz has done for VF for years, the editing always goes in favor of the more intense looking portrait. That is what she is famous for.

Anyhow, that being said, there's no way the Cyruses would have known what the final edit would be, even being able to see some of the images instantaneously on digital. So I do side with the kid in not knowing or understanding what the final sitting image was ultimately going to look like. You can see from the set-up down to the styling that everything is reasonably harmless. But you also have to realize that the talent of the people on a photo team is to spin and transform reality on film. However from whatever myriad of images they came out with in the end ( and for VF, depending on how many clothing changes, sitting & standing poses, there would be about maybe 100-300 frames for each clothing look on digital), out of allll the frames that were available, the magazine should have opted for something more appropriate for a teen celebrity with a large children's demographic.

I stand by what the photographer said. She has a good reputation and is renowned for her art.

btw on the radio station this morning the radio talk show hosts were wondering if her parents would have to approve the photo shoot as well as approve the pics???

It seems Disney puts out this "squeeky clean good morals" image - chicks who end up not so squeeky clean or change their image from "wholesome girl" to sexy/bad such Britney Spears, Christina Aguilara, and Hillary Duff.

Agreed. The photographer is renowed and photos can only reflect what input its given by the model.

That was a stupid question by the stations part. Obviously, if Miley posed with her dad, her parents were on the photoshoot site. Afterall, she is under 18.

I'm referring to the pics that are of just her posing. That is also what the radio station was going on about.

Miley Cyrus apologizes ahead of time for racy Vanity Fair photo spread

at 15:24 on April 28, 2008, EDT.
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Miley Cyrus is taking issue with a photo of herself that's going around, and it's not another amateur, truth-or-dare Internet snapshot - it's the handiwork of Annie Leibovitz. THE ASSOCIATED PRESS/Evan Agotini

LOS ANGELES - Miley Cyrus said she is embarrassed by an apparently racy photo spread appearing in the upcoming issue of Vanity Fair.

"I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed," Cyrus said Sunday in a statement through her publicist. "I never intended for any of this to happen and I apologize to my fans who I care so deeply about."

The photos, appearing in the upcoming issue of Vanity Fair, were taken by Annie Leibovitz, a renowned celebrity photographer whose edgy, silver-toned portraits have included subjects such as Angelina Jolie, Scarlett Johansson and a naked, pregnant Demi Moore.

"I'm sorry that my portrait of Miley has been misinterpreted," Leibovitz said in a statement released by Vanity Fair. "Miley and I looked at fashion photographs together and we discussed the picture in that context before we shot it. The photograph is a simple, classic portrait, shot with very little makeup, and I think it is very beautiful."

The Cyrus pictures accompany an interview with the 15-year-old pop star and her father, singer Billy Ray Cyrus. One photo in particular is causing the biggest stir: the teen idol is wrapped in what appears to be a satin bedsheet, looking over her shoulder with her back exposed.

The Disney Channel, which airs Cyrus' TV show "Hannah Montana," was also critical of Vanity Fair.

"Unfortunately, as the article suggests, a situation was created to deliberately manipulate a 15-year-old in order to sell magazines," a network statement said.

Vanity Fair defended the story and photo shoot in a statement of its own.

"Miley's parents and/or minders were on the set all day," the magazine said. "Since the photo was taken digitally, they saw it on the shoot and everyone thought it was a beautiful and natural portrait of Miley."

In a caption released by Vanity Fair with the photo, Cyrus expressed her comfort with how the apparently topless picture turned out.

"I think it's really artsy," she told the magazine at the time. "It wasn't in a skanky way. Annie took, like, a beautiful shot, and I thought that was really cool. That's what she wanted me to do, and you can't say no to Annie."

A handful of borderline racy snapshots of a girl who appeared to be Cyrus have appeared on the Internet in recent months, including images of a girl posing in her underwear and bikini last week. In one shot, she is draped over a young man.

Cyrus is one of the biggest acts in the United States and is often considered a role model for young girls. Her "Best of Both Worlds" tour sold out arenas, and her successful 3-D concert film collected US$31.3 million in its opening weekend in February.

This whole Miley Cyrus "controversy" is a bunch of crap. doody First of all, her daddy Billy Ray was on the set with her, as well as her mother, and Miley doesn't even make any public appearances these days without a whole entourage of agents and other handlers, including some from Disney itself. So there's no way that Disney wasn't aware of what the whole photoshoot was about in the first place.

"But she's only 15!!!"

Yes, but Brooke Shields played a tween hooker in "Pretty Baby" in the 1970's and was naked in "The Blue Lagoon" (albeit they probably used a body double). Jodie Foster also played an underage hooker in "Taxi Driver" and while it generated a lot of controversy at the time, it was nowhere near the amount of faux outrage that the whole Miley Cyrus episode is generating.

I think it's sick. Nothing wrong with taking pics with the dad, that's no issue. The clothes and posing like that is what is so scandalous. I do not want to see stuff like that unless they're about the same age and it's a boyfriend and girlfriend, OVER 18!!!
