"Voices" is one of the two songs on this album that I don't like.During the Warner Bros. listening party,Madonna described it as a "psychological mind fuck" so I was expecting something really bizarre and wild.Instead,it's a boring track that doesn't really do much for me.

I would like to (but this is just my personal opinion) disagree. I listened to that song (using jiwafm.com) and it reminds me so much of New Order not Madonna. But it's a nice song. Very 80s. I think Gwen likes Madonna and Madonna likes Gwen, so it's okay if they 'steal' each other's music. ....I miss my best friend...

I like the way you analyze the songs.I too noticed that there are three 'relationship songs' in a row---"Miles Away","She's Not Me" and "Incredible".These songs speak of a relationship in crisis, but it seems to end on high note."You're welcome to my party",Madonna sings near the end of "Incredible". Thank you very much. I just thought why oh why she would put 3 long songs back-to-back-to-back? It should mean something. People here in our country are buying this album like crazy. First time (well since 1989) that members of the teen set are actually buying a Madonna album. I wonder what Guy thinks of these songs?

I like it- it's just a great light, floaty track- nothing compared to the tracks that follow it, but good nonetheless. What's your favourite so far? "There is no such thing in life as normal..."

"Miles Away" These are my Top five songs on the album: "Miles Away" "Heartbeat" "Incredible" "Devil Wouldn't Recognize You" "Dance 2Night" I can't believe how many potential hits are on this album.

Im in love with the desperation of the final segment. The "time to get you hands up" part is brilliant - it'll sound amazing live. In fact this whole album will work well live - she's certainly gonna have some fun with Give It 2 Me.
When I first heard "Incredible",I thought the second part was silly and crazy, but now, that's my favorite part of the song.It takes the song in another whole direction and I love it. [Edited 4/30/08 2:36am] That's why I love the 2nd part of Incredible. It gives the song a new shot of adrenaline and takes it higher. The more I play it, the more I love it! I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I was on the subway listening to "Give it 2 Me" and I as this song is going to be the next single, I wondered if if could work and I think it can. The song is super uptempo and it's fun and easy to dance and sing to. That "Get Stupid" line could work too. I want to see how this song does on the radio, even though I don't listen to it anymore . I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

am i really posting on this thread?
ok, so i got a copy for the boyfriend yesterday and i loaded it on my ipod this morning and i'm listening to it along with the new portishead and santogold albums. nice line-up. i'm not liking the timbalandishness of the album, but i can bypass it. it just sounds so generic, like nelly furtado or justin timberlake could easily be singing these songs instead of madonna. there's not enough "signature" madonna sound going on...speaking of which, it's frustrating, because there are glimpses of old fun stooopid madonna on this album, but it's too little too late. i'd like this album more if her vocals sounded more like the whiney/torchy/untrained madge of old rather than the matronly, measured voice of post-evita madonna. some of the backing vocals take me back to her 80s heyday, then she sings over it with that damn meryl streep enunciation and it just puts a damper on the fun for me. i dunno. maybe after a few listens i'll get what she's going for with this album. and the packaging. jeezus. it looks like a bootleg. who told anyone that the cover looked good? all that whining said, i'm hearing stuff on this album that i WANT to like. maybe it'll settle in and i'll come to really like this album over the summer. i HATED 'bedtime stories' the first few times i heard it, and now it's one of my favorite of her albums. ya never know.

Apparently I'm going to respond to all of your posts today. I agree with this. That's why I really enjoy a tune like Beat Goes On (minus the unnecessary rap). It reminds me of something from the Who's That Girl era. The production style on some of the songs is a wee bit distracting. I still like a lot of it, but it feels like she's grasping for something she doesn't need. [Edited 4/30/08 9:41am]

Madonna to score next weeks #1 Album.... on pace to about 300,000
HITS: Hard Candy Will Bow on Top, Lyfe Jennings, The Roots, Def Leppard and Portishead Also Debut April 30, 2008 Madonna will leave Warner Bros., the only label she’s ever known, with a bang. Her final studio album for the Bunny, Hard Candy, is on track to sell between 275-300k, which will handily end Mariah Carey’s two-week reign with E=MC2, according to one-day sale reports from those retailers still standing around this great country of ours. The Material Gal has one more album, a greatest hits collection, to go before splitting for a long-term deal with concert promoter Live Nation. The album’s her first since 2005’s Confessions on a Dance Floor, which sold more than 8 million worldwide. In the U.S., it debuted at #1, selling 351k copies in its first week, taking the top spot from Carrie Underwood’s Some Hearts. In its second week, Confessions on a Dance Floor sold 210k copies and slipped to #4 with a 39% sales decrease. To date, the album has sold over 1.7 million copies in the U.S. Columbia R&B star Lyfe Jennings’ Lyfe Change, his third album, is on track to sell between 75-80k, which should be good for a Top 5 bow, fueled by the single, “Never Never Land.” His last disc, 2006’s The Phoenix, debuted at #2 and went on to sell 450k. Veteran Def Jam rappers The Roots return with Rising Down, their first since 2006’s Game Theory, with a first-week sales number in the 50-60k range Hair metal mainstays Def Leppard’s Universal album Songs from the Sparkle Lounge is doing better than expected, thanks to the band’s appearance on last night’s Dancing with the Stars, where they performed their new single, “Nine Lives,” which features Tim McGraw. One-day sales estimates peg their total at 45-50k. The band’s U.S. tour with Styx and REO Speedwagon is already underway. Island Records trip-hop pioneers Portishead return with their first studio album in a decade, and third overall, the cleverly dubbed Third, on track for an impressive 40-45k in sales after their critically acclaimed performance at Coachella last weekend. Tom Petty’s Mudcrutch album on Warner Bros. looks set for 25-30k after a string of intimate performances with his one-time Gainesville, FL, bandmates at the Troubadour in L.A., his old stomping grounds. Epic Records' SoCal atmospheric pop-rockers Augustana’s Can’t Love, Can’t Hurt is on target for 20-25k The market was down 8% vs last week, down 11% vs same week last year and now down 11% year-to-date…. as Hollywood continues to burn outside HITS’ Sunset and Vine headquarters..
