Narada Michael Walden!

I guess they have re-issued his cds. I found a few of them at the local wreckastow the other day and picked up Looking at you, Looking at me & The Nature of Things! They are both great, funky new wave/r&b albums. My fave tracks so far are Tina, Shake it off, The nature of things, Live it up. I was surprised to see the Randy "dawg" Jackson played bass all over those albums. He's really talented.

I like some of the work he has done for others, but only have 2 solo albums. "Awakening" (which is good) and "divine emotions" (which for the most part, is pretty average, despite the synths and 80's production that I love so much)

Best track he ever did was a cut called "is it really love" for the Inner Space OST. Its so 80's and uplifting (in the pulsating way only 80's music does). Love that cut.

...He had quite a nice run in the 70s.

I'm gonna have to get a compilation from this guy! I like many of his songs. In the late 70s disco era,he had a few songs that I really liked ("I Shoulda Loved You"...."I Don't Want Nobody Else To Dance With You").I love his mid-80s song with Patti Austin "Gimme Gimme Gimme" (the video is great,go see it on YouTube).

I was turned on to NMW after buying the Bright Lights Big City soundtrack for Prince's "Good Love." Still blast "Divine Emotions" to this day.

That tune was also the title track on this album, "Divine Emotions"(1988)...

No, but he's got an extremely giddy, upbeat personality, kind of a mixture of Stevie Wonder and Al Jarreau lol.... the woman on many of his album covers and sleeves was his wife, Lisa Walden (later named Anukampa)...

Narada, wife Anukampa,and Lenny Kravitz:

I didn't know dude had so many solo albums which explains why i'm
not familiar with his music. Unfortunately the only song i know of
his solo wise is that corny gimme, gimme, gimme song but i know him
as a brilliant producer.

Thing is that's not all he does--- As a drummer/writer/producer , he played with Everyone from Ray Charles to Weather Report, To Rick James to Barbara Streisand....

Here's a clip of him playing drums with Joe Zawinul, Kirk Whalum and other former Weather Report members:

nod Indeed. Whereas, The 80's was his production period. He's not only a proficient drummer but also a producer. He has produced a alot of artist such as Aretha, Whitney, and Natalie just to name a few.
